Oh shit I'm crying like a waterfall again. It meant so much to Lucifer that his dad told him he loves him and that he's proud of the man he became and I think at this point Lucifer realized that he's finally able to tell Chloe that he loves her. @@knightvision1228 I think that moment with Johnson was made especially, that was a hint that real Dad could say the same words. Sadly that Lucifer couldn't understand that earlier. And when I watched that scene with Johnson at the first time, I had the feeling that these words were honest. Maybe Johnson was a sort of messenger, who knows? Now I'd want to know more about his story and how he found that buckle from the sword... it could be interesting

This is so far from what the Word of God = Bible, says. To begin, there is no "Lucifer" in the ancient original text of the Hebrew Bible. The name "Lucifer" only started to appear in the English translation of the King James Bible Version when he was the ruling king in England! This fallen angel was not named in the Hebrew Bible because God have said anything that does not belong to Him is removed from the Book of Life, meaning this fallen angel's name was removed so no one knows his name. The fallen angel wanted to be God and so he tried to steal his creator's glory and praise in heaven. Seems to me this series is the exact opposite to what the Word of God = Bible says. Making it another attempt of Satan "adversory" to brainwash those who knows little of the truth.

It's just like Ellis once said in an interview for S3. All that Lucifer wants from his Dad is to be accepted by him and hear that he's proud of the man he's become. I'm on a roll of rewatching all seasons and analysing S5b on AO3. There's just SO much stuff going on on so many levels. The show is truly stunning and so unique. Thanks for the lovely video!

"Favorite Son" is one of the most powerful episodes in the series because for the first time Lucifer opened up to his therapist, Linda. She got through to him that's when he first let human emotions in pain, anger, sadness, things he thought that were useless and trivial, things he thought he didn't needed, but, the truth is it was always there, all he did was suppress it for a long time, eons. After weeks of therapy with Linda, he got emotional for the first time, vulnerable to her and his feelings toward his father who cast him out; Lucifer felt wronged, that his actions were unjustifiable in God's eyes and everything that happened to him, Earth and humanity is his dad's fault, not his. He wanted him to admit that's been nothing but a bad father to him and his siblings. Everything from SEASON ONE EPISODE SIX is still relevant in season 5 part 2 of Lucifer, especially "Family Dinner". That scene cuts deep. Thank you, Lucifer Writers.

Oh yes, that session with Linda from "Favorite Son" is still one of my all time favorites. So powerful. She really got through to him. I still think Lucifer is God's favorite son, not Amenadiel. He spent the most time on Earth trying to mend their relationship and I think Lucifer becoming his successor was his plan all along. Ruling over the darkness finally has allowed Lucifer to now rule the light.

There relation is just so great in past seasons lucifer and god don't get along.. lucifer fight with him curse him blame him but yeah. Lucifer love his father always he didn't show us and god loves him always and same he never show that to. I did whatch it again... Just because I love it so much. And I came to realize, that I have the same expierince with my own parents. Except, they never told me that maybe they were wrong about me. Or (from my father's side), that they are proud of me. This video made clear to me, that I wished, I could hear those words. Only once. It would mean the world to me. So... I was happy for Lucifer, that He got the chance.... I am happy with myself. But not happy with the fact, that I had to learn how to hug people out of pure love from "strangers"

The way I see the story is as following: God saw something in Lucifer he didn't see in any of his other creations. A burning passion and a voice of truth and personality. Nobody else dared speak up against god, nobody dared comment on his flaws and what HE did wrong. From this, god took a bigger interest in Lucifer and saw his potential and his shining light. Keep in mind we don't know if god can see the future of other creatures, but since he know what they will say, I will assume he knows what they will do and CAN do. He banished Lucifer from heaven to hell to give him the most difficult job that only he could do without becoming evil. A process of learning how difficult or annoying it can be to be the king of something. Lucifer then took a trip to Earth where god had already prepared Chloe. (Can't remember if he gave the ability to resist Lucifer's power) and Chloe would give Lucifer the push to become more mature and empathetic and understand others have feelings too, and everything isn't only about Lucifer. Lucifer would grow and mature from this and the potential within him would continue to grow, and god would accept that Lucifer is ready to air the throne of heaven. A new voice should be heard. A voice of experience and improvement. A voice of reason. Something we can see when he chooses to spare Michael. Maturity and understanding more blood won't help anything. In the past he would probably have killed him if it hadn't been for his journey. Lucifer has something no other angel has. A spark of humanity and he's been at the lowest only to rise to the highest. Truly a masterpiece of a story.
