You are almost there my friend. Ha'ashem who was described in the "Old Testament" or Tanakh, is not an evil G-d. Isaiah 45:5-8 says that He makes both Good and "Evil" (in the KJV), which was translated from the word רַע (ra or ra'ah) which means struggle, opposition, calamity (as translated in the NKJV). This is the same word that is used in Genesis 2:9 to describe the tree of the knowledge of good and "evil". Really what this means is that evil is actually just the felt consequences of poor choices, which is allowed so that we as people can grow. Adversity breeds character.

@@michaeldowney2940I would suggest a physical copy that suits your language. English I would suggest the NKJV or the ESV as they are better translations but obviously not THE best. If you want to truly understand the original text then you’d have to learn Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek then read in the original languages the texts were written in. But I use a combination of both physical and digital Bibles. I have 3 physical copies, the NKJV study, the Tree of Life version, and the Tanakh published in Hebrew with English translation, and then I use e-sword app which shows the original words that the text was translated from as a pop-up and the YouVersion Bible App because I can select just about any version I want with that.

The problem though is that most of it was translated into Greek and then into other languages. So the Greek culture and understanding was injected into the interpretation because language and culture are inseparable. The meaning of words comes from the culture in the language. Like for example, you don’t get the intention of punishment to only be cruel and torturous until you get to the New Testament Greek. The Hebrew understanding of punishment is to impart a lesson for both the offended and the offender, to reconcile the issue so that peace is restored. It was never “I want you to hurt as much as you hurt me.” That came with the definition of corporal punishment in the Greek language.

Further to my previous comment, Lucifer is a title, a role not an actual name. Lord of the morning, the light bringer etc. etc. are descriptions/ titles, not names. When thinking of the entity now known as 'Lucifer' I align them with the Archangel 'Uriel' who has been expunged from the 'Catholic' list of Angels. It could be stress, lack of sleep, anxiety, religious trauma syndrome, drugs...etc. My friend who experienced these things happened to have an extremely religious upbringing and his mom would cast demons out of people. They were a troubled family yet they professed faith. The New Testament repeatedly talks about "knowing them by their fruits" and the power of faith yet these people were a miserable mess, obsessed with demons and satan. If God is more powerful, then why are these people so scared of "Satan"? It's because they were taught that Satan is real. I think Satan is like Santa Claus in the sense that people animate him with their belief, it's called an egregore or thought form. It is a very fascinating topic. I would personally need more evidence to be convinced that it's something other than the brain chemicals going haywire.

Lucifer is not a mistranslation but a literal translation of the Hebrew title Heylel into Latin. This wasn’t done because of error or deception but because of familiarity. Everyone was use to the Latin Vulgate where the whole work was translated into Latin and so the KJV guys kept the title in Latin. As for the notion that Isaiah 14 isn’t directed to Lucifer is to not take into account of how the ancients not only viewed rulers but the spiritual powers behind the rulers. This is seen in works like the “Uruk List of Kings and Sages” where certain Apkallu were recorded as empowering particular kings of Babylon. If you carefully read all of Isiah 14 you can see where the prophet switches his condemnation from physical ruler to spiritual archon. This is especially clear in Ezekiel 28 where the prophet addresses the King of Tyre and the evil archon behind him in vs 13, calling him out as the anointed cherub who had access to the garden but fell when pride sprung up in his heart.

Devil, Lucifer, and Satan have nothing to do with each other vocally other than the same human. Beelzebub is Bubba a different dude. During world war 2 some government planes dropped boxes of good to a tribe on an island that was cut off from the rest of the world. These planes returned years later to bring them more goods and seeds and this small civilization had built tall statutes of the planes that had came and they worshiped these planes like gods simply because the idea was something they couldnt understand. This reminds me of Christianity because how do we truly know that "angels" arent just ET who came down to give us wisdom and warnings on planet earth because they acknowledge we arent as advanced as them and need the help.

the Bible in Isaiah 14:12, 2 Peter 1:19, and the Latin version of Exsultet. In Isaiah 14:12, the Hebrew word for "morning star" is translated into Latin as lucifer.
