Netflix honestly didn't do much. Still produced by Warner Bros, same writers, production etc. Netflix just distributed it and let them show Lucifer and Ella's asses and some stronger language, and made them shorten season into more solid story arcs. Don't get me wrong, great season but TeamLucifer and WB stepped up their game to thank the loyal fans.

Michael Boley Netflix did have an effect in that there is zero censorship on Netflix shows, whereas Fox had more rules about nudity, sex scenes, language, and the full-on Lucifer aspect. Plus it looked like quite a big budget boost.

I think y'all are misunderstanding Lucifer himself lol, yes he was an angel and his essence is still Angelic/Celestial. But he is a fallen angel, he isnt like Amenadiel an Angel of Heaven. He is a fallen Angel now The Devil of Hell. He isn't a demon, but he is demonic because that was his punishment. So if people want to keep it simple and if they half angel half demon they are actually correct like in this case in the vid, because he is indeed half and half because he's both. If you want to be specific sure, he isn't a half angel, but he is half demon.

GoRd0oO no the guy above you makes more sense than yours. Just because he’s a fallen angel doesn’t change the fact that he’s an angel as can be seen by his angel wings in the last episode. He is still a pure angel because as we found out angels’ subconscious controls what happens to them and Lucifer only looked like that because he wanted to or felt that he was that monster. As soon as he forgave himself he returned to his angelic wings and normal face.

Not exactly. Season one of Lucifer was only 13 episodes. So, they had to introduce us to the characters and complete the story arc in 13 episodes. Season 2 and 3 dragged on because they had to fill 22 episodes with a single story arc. That's harder to do. The more compact season moves everything along much quicker. Season 5, if there is one and I don't see why it wouldn't be, will continue the unresolved issues in season 4 but with a new overall story arc.

I like having a couple of "filler episodes that can concentrate on something other than a big bad, it would be a good chance to flesh out other characters. They could have someone stalking Trixie but she tells Maze and Maze does what she does best on the guy. A little questioning under torture. A few threats and she sends the guy on his way.

Quick correction. It was mentioned in the show that Maze wasn't hiding weapons in case of intruders, she was hiding them so Linda (who is in baby proofing mode) would stop getting rid of them. Also Dan already came to the conclusion that Lucifer isn't responsible for Charlotte's death when he went to see Linda at which time Linda goes into labor. This is when Dan has heart to heart with Ella and Ella explains why having god in her life is important. At this point Dan seems in a much better place with Charlotte's death. It wouldn't make sense for Dan to still be trying to punish Lucifer for Charlotte death after already admitting to himself that it wasn't Lucifer's fault.

I somewhat agree, but the ending of this season is quite unhappy for a series finale. Lucifer is back in hell (after coming all this way as a person) being tortured himself too, because his home and his family is on earth and he will never be. Chloe would grow old sad and eventually go to heaven where Lucifer cannot (and does not even want to) follow her.

My favorite series and show since Spartacus and Dexter. And Tom Ellis... pure comedic genius and timing. The way Tom Ellis plays the character with the whole, no apologies, no care or thought of who's around when he says whatever he was or is thinking. And actually does not care who knows about anything he does or is, ETC... I mean he is so funny, but at the same time when it comes to pound town... Yeah kick it ass and the women, it's just so well-written. Although I almost started to have a seizure when they song and dance started breaking out at the beginning. But luckily it was most likely a metaphor of how he was feeling from the end of the last episode. So writers, don't you dare do that again it's sitting in Glee. Keep it up, and most of all... Now I will continue, with my 11th year membership with Netflix... Thanks for picking them up man

I'm thinking season 5 will have a time jump possibly several years. I say this cuz whenever there is a magical destiny baby like Charlie in a TV show with supernatural elements theres either a time jump or they age a bunch of years overnight or he gets sent to heaven and time works differently that kind of thing cuz we always see them older. I could name a bunch of shows that have done this Angel, Charmed, Supernatural, the 4400 etc.. and I know it probably won't happen but my comic reading self is hoping that Charlie will take the place of Elaine who was a nephelim like Charlie in an adaptation of the source material at least a little bit.

SOOOOOOO I started watching this and about 10 seconds in I stopped and rewatched the last 30 minutes of the show. Over. and Over. and OVER for almost an hour and I can't stop thinking about how much JUSTICE Netflix did this show even if it's the last season. I REALLY hope it isn't but with how Netflix cancels it's shows, I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted a season or two. But STILL IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN LAST SEASON AND DID IT SOOOOO MUUUUUUUCH JUSTICEEEEEEEEEEEEE

True but that's what gets lost if the show is too tight. That's what filler episodes are good for unless the writers are good enough that everyone has a role. That would be hard to do with Trixie in grade school.

I think it's WONDERFUL that Netflix picked up Lucifer, I LOVE the storyline n message it gives, it reminds us the WE as humans are the ones that are in control of our choices n up to US to determine our fate... please, please, please DON'T end the show after 5 seasons, let it continue on for many more than that!!! It's a beneficial show that gives hope n shines a new light on what we should n shouldn't do, n how we are the responsible ones for our actions

Eve name dropped Lilith. If they do another season I guarantee Lilith will feature. Also, Lucifer is not part demon. He's an angel. The show establishes that angels self actualize. How they view themselves becomes the manifestation of their self.

I think 1) we got spoiled with a 24 episode season 3 LOL. Having said that, these were 50 minute episodes, so an extra 100 minutes of footage, in seasons 1-3 lucifer terms of 42 minute shows, is about 2.5 extra episodes of footage which is a little nice. 2) Netflix kept the core values of the show very much intact. I think they just gave a blank check to the producers of the Fox version and said here make this show 3) The finales of this show are always so intense - so much buildup and it totally pays off. 4 > 1 > 3 > 2 imo.

Honestly, season 4 wrapped up nicely sort of so I wouldn’t be surprised if they discontinued because of how no matter what Lucifer has to go back to hell. However, I feel like there’s so much more they can do in season 5 which is great. So I dunno. I’m hoping for a season 5 but if not, the ending is alright too

why would netflix buy the rights for lucifer if they wanted to do only one season? the ending of season 3 was horrible so they wrapped things up pretty nicely but i find it very hard to believe that that was their only intention with the show. they want money above all else after all. so i think they will analyze people's reaction to 4th season and then decide what to do. i hope the data they got will help them to conclude that making more seasons is profitable for them.

Ramazan Tekin you know netflix makes some really dumb movies. However I’m saying it as a hypothetical because sometimes a show can be a real big hit on Netflix but it’ll be canceled. That’s why I’m saying there’s more to continue but if it’s cancelled somehow then it can rest as a bittersweet ending.

Noctis Lucis Caelum Yeah you are right they got rid of them but not because they wanted to. Disney claimed their rights on the marvel Series because they will open an own streaming service with their own series at the end of this year. That’s why they took the rights off from Netflix and Co.

Well him being in hell could open up more of a supernatural nature to the show. In the comics we know that when he left he closed up the gates of hell and gives the key to sandman. Lilith was brought up by Eve multiple times, maybe she will make an appearance. In the books lucifer has multiple runins with Micheal and God. At one point he tries his hand at making his own reality as well. In the DC universe Lucifer is the second most powerful character ever so there is a lot that can happen for next season....I hope more of Neil's characters show up.

Literally just finished watching the last episode of season 4! It was a good season as a whole & the last episode was heartbreaking, especially when Lucifer said goodbye to Chloe! He's obviously coming back,otherwise there would be no show, but it was just a sad , but happy moment! I'm glad Chloe FINALLY told Lucifer that she loved him, cause he undoubtedly loved her!

Ok my thoughts for possible characters coming in for S5, Lilith being one and Micheal being the other. Both names were dropped and we do get some character responses/reactions from these names. I mean we had deaths weapon and even heard a bit about him till we actually got to see the Angle of Death. Again just my thoughts, feel free to comment.

I think so too... I think they could have some sort of heaven/hell conflict with other angels and end up replacing Lucifer as King of Hell so he can go back to LA. Plus the stuff with Charlie--doubt Remiel's the only angel who is worried about that situation. Lots of really interesting ways they could go with it. Would like a slightly longer season maybe 13ish. Not too many more, just a few to flesh out some side stories.

Chloe and Lucifer is a tragic love story. Lucifer being immortal will see Chloe die and she'll be slated for Heaven whereas Lucifer will be in Hell. Apart for all eternity. Or they can be imagined as Hades and Persephone, with Persephone (Chloe) going to Hell to live with Lucifer for half the year. In the Sandman comic books, the keys to Hell were given to someone else when Lucifer decided to abandon Hell. Can't wait for Season 5. I wonder how Lucifer will get back/leave Hell.

Did you notice how his Hell throne is made of the same formations found in the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland? I'm sure this was done on purpose as the Giants of the Bible were referred to as the Nephilim which is often translated as "fallen ones" AKA fallen angels. Nephilim is the relation to the Hebrew word “naphal” meaning "to fall."
