Thank you for this! If you try to find Lucy and Desi's house in Chatsworth, at the corner of Corbin and Devonshire Blvds., you should know that it no longer exists and the entire footprint was erased in 1976 to put in a housing development. A street called Tuba goes right through where their property used to be. A nearby house of 1940 vintage has been mistakenly identified over the years as Lucy and Desi's Valley home. Not true. The San Fernando Valley Blog has a treasure trove of vintage photos of Lucy, Desi, and the kids at home in their rambling ranch house in the 1940's and '50's. Their mailbox, driveway and front entrance were on Devonshire, with Corbin as the east border of their property. They were on the southwest corner. Today, this intersection is an ugly, barren corridor of street paving and cement block fences. in 1954, when they moved to BevHills, they sold their property to actress Jane Withers. Then, she sold it, and by the time of the 1976 sale and demolition, probably no one knew they were tearing down a beloved piece of Hollywood history. Also, there is a film on You Tube of Devonshire Blvd., taken from the back of a truck in about 1943, heading west. This was wide open country and citrus orchards as far as the eye could see back then. The narrator points out Lucy and Desi's house, sitting out in the middle of nowhere, shortly after it was built. Devonshire was a two-lane blacktop highway and Corbin was a dirt road! The Valley still looked a lot like this, but a little more built up, when I was growing up there in the 1950's.

My husband's grandfather used to date Lucy way back when she was a teenager living in Celoron, New York. He went off to the Navy and she, at 17, went to NYC to start her career. They stayed in touch over the years and she had an off-camera character called "Vinnie" that was named after my husband's grandfather. She would go home to NY and have her photo taken with him. When she died, my husband's grandmother sent her daughter a lovely card with note. Lucie did the same when Grandpa died. There is a Lucy museum in Jamestown, NY for those Lucy fans out there.

Thanks for showing a picture of how the house looked when Lucy owned it. It doesn’t even look like the same house today, which is a shame. I can’t imagine buying Lucy’s house and completely changing it. I would have preserved as much as possible - inside and out. In any case, “I Love Lucy” was the greatest sitcom in history - even my kids enjoy it. Thank you, Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel for bringing us so much laughter. It’s sad that Desi was so cruel to Lucy - that’s the part of their history that’s painful to hear and a reminder that people are often very different in real life than the characters they portray on screen, but I cherish those shows as if they were my own home movies.

There is a home movie of Desi and Lucy long after their divorce, birthday party for one of the grand kids, and they were both in the pool playing with Lucy Jr's young child, and they were laughing, and then they got the most poignant look on their faces, almost sad, as if in regret. It still will make me tear up. They were a great team, glad they shared their lives with us, and thank you Jordan for the awesome vlog.

BEAUTIFUL HOME!! I loved Lucy as well and what a lot of people forget, Lucy was a real beauty when she first started out and it was only later that she started "clowning" up her looks! She was gorgeous as a model! And with Desi who was also a real talent and was also gorgeous, the two of them were one big knock out looking couple! Yeah, he was the proverbial Latin lover! The two of them started Desilu Productions which also produced the original Star Trek hit show! One of the first real POWER COUPLES before they parted ways! Thanks for sharing~

I was in LA in 1990 or 91 don't remember exactly but Lucys house was for sale and had an open house. I was very 70s decorated but seemed a lived in family home. There were clothes in the closets, dishes in the kitchen cabinets. The back yard was open with a beautiful pool. I Love Lucy till today. Paved the way for women in comedy. The high walls were not there back then.

I'm a huge Lucille Ball /Desi Arnaz fan. I own every CD as well. My 10yr grandson and I watch "I Love Lucy" every weekend (at his request) when he comes over. He also can quote lines from "I Love Lucy" which cracks me up. I've been by the house years ago. After seeing this vlog I think I'll take a day and drive up to LA and show him the house. Their relationship was a heartbreaking love story. Several days before Desi passed Lucy talk to him on the phone. Lucy told him in 100 different ways "I love you." (According to their daughter). I'll be planning my little road trip soon I'm only 146.5 miles away 😊

Some tidbits i know about Lucy and Cher. Lucy and Desi employed Cher's mother Georgia Holt as an extra, she was a model, singer/actress. She was a striking and still gorgeous blond who can be seen in a few episodes. Cher and her sister appeared as extras as children on Ozzy & Harriet. When Sonny & Cher made their big breakout as singers in 1965-66, Georgia overheard Lucy raving about them....and Georgia said oh Lucy that's my daughter, Cher. Lucy insisted on meeting her and they became very good friend....playing backgammon in the 1970's at a Club Called Mr. Pipps in B.H. When Cher decided to divorce Sonny, she went to Lucy who offered her advice as she had been thru the same thing with Desi. (cheating husband at the height of their career) There is also a funny story about how Lucy and Cher were at a party with Johnny Carson in attendance, this would have been during the Watergate years. Lucy and Cher were laughing and joking about Nixon, and this made Johhny made and he admonished them....Cher never appeared on the tonite show with him. on another note Lucy's next door neighbor was Jack Benny who they always heard playing his violin. Jimmy Stewart lived down the street for Lucy. One year he decided to plant a vegetable garden. He must have over planted or had a large yield that year as he late would take baskets of produce up and down the street trying to give it all away....Thanks for the video. Great job as always.

when i used to go sight-seeing in Beverly Hills Roxbury Drive was always one of my favorite streets - Rosemary Clooney, Peter Falk, Jack Benny, Ira Gershwin, Agnes Moorehead, and of course, Lucy and Desi's house all within the same block of each other - later on Madonna owned the home at 1015, which was previously owned by Diane Keaton and hollywood legend Betty Grable - Lucy and then husband Gary Morton still lived there at the time and, as always, we respected their privacy and never even thought of doing anything more than just driving past the residences on Roxbury - it was, and probably still is, one of the most famous street in Beverly Hills

That window you mentioned was the bay window that looked out from the living room. The backgammon room was off of the kitchen. Up above the living room was Lucy's bedroom. Her bathroom motif was red, of course. She had an huge, sweeping living space upstairs toward the back overlooking the backyard and pool. To the left of her house lived Jack Benny. To the right, across Lexington - Jimmy Stewart. I know I sound like a smart aleck - but I enjoyed your video as usual, J. Thanks to you and the hot brunette for loving Lucy.

James Stewart cultivated a vegetable garden in the lot next door to his Tudor-style home on Roxbury. He regularly gave baskets of fresh produce to his neighbors. Lucie Arnaz does an hilarious imitation of Stewart in an interview (it may be on You Tube) when he tried to deliver a basket to the back door and Lucy's Chinese housekeeper kept telling him they didn't want to buy any of his vegetables, not understanding what was happening. Rosemary Clooney owned the former Gershwin home (now demolished, as is Jimmy Stewart's house) where "They Can't Take That Away From Me" was originally composed in the living room. Ugh, progress!!

- They took the writers from My Favorite Husband, as well as Pepito Pérez the clown who was Desi's friend, he helped Lucy with all these bits. - CBS not only saw people loved them, they were also worried about them going to NBC, since NBS showed interest in them. - Both wanted to get a divorce, though Lucy wanted it to come from Desi, this time, so he did ask for a divorce, letting her know they will tell people she asked for it. - I heard somewhere, it was Desi's idea to put wheels at the bottom of the cameras. It was because of Desi that Reruns came to life. He was the brains behind I Love Lucy. - The house itself had another section with 2 windows on its right side, from old photos. - The ranch house isn't there, unfortunately, if you did go to see the place, share a link :) - No, Lucy didn't consider Gary to be the love of her life. Gary knew Lucy loved Desi, he didn't even try to compete him. Lucy said: “Desi was the great love of my life. I will miss him until the day I die. But I don’t regret divorcing him. I just couldn’t take it anymore.” I talked with someone who actually played with her backgammon on her last year of her life

Loved this ! Nice to see a fellow lionheart on the vlog ! Good job love the storytelling ! You’ve an advantage being tall being able to look over the fence . You always notice the fine details In things . I actually watched the super bowl but still didn’t understand the rules lol but it was fun to watch. 👍🏻🦁🎥🎬😎💙🏈👍🏻

Hi Jordan, I'm a new subscriber who lived in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura Co. for over 30 years and when my husband's employer transferred us to the Austin, TX area, we just retired here. I LOVE your channel! You've shown so many places I never got to see and your information regarding all these places is FANTASTIC! Keep up the GREAT JOB! I love all Vlogs! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Lucille Ball saw their next door neighbor walk past the window of her mansion AFTER he committed suicide earlier in the day. This is one of the HOLLYWOOD ghost 👻 stories that was going around.
