Eaglemoss: The Bat (The Dark Knight Rises)

I had to purchase the Bat 3 times. The first 2 thenguns broke off when trying to remove the plastic case they had wrapped around the guns. I finally got a 3rd Bat and decided to unscrew it from the base of the diorama to remove the plastic case around the guns. So after a couple years I finally have a complete Bat and about 90% of the Automobilia collection

I totally love the 'Lobster'. Totally loved the first appearance of it. My biggest problem was one of the rotor blades, which broke off. Of the other parts I'm not so afraid of, but I heard that they often break. I don't think the eaglemoss version of the Batpod does fit, what is really sad, because I wanted it. But the Lobster and the Tumblers have fantastic details.

the batpod I think is out of scale, they could've done without having the Batman figure on the batpod.

I have this too. Stew also sent me one. I never took it out of the plastic bag, but I hear something rattling around. I will open it soon. Great Review as always.

That's cool that Stew sent you one too. I'm willing to bet it's the front "lobster" arms/turbines that you hear rattling around in the package. One of mine was broken off when it came in. Awesome Richard! I like the design of the bat. Even though it looks more bug-like than bat-like, still such a cool concept. I really like the way it flew in the movie, with the propellers on its underside. So cool. Incredibly well done review as always Richard.

Great addition to your collection. I was never a big fan of the B.A.T or Tumbler I think it was because they are so different to the usual style vehicles which we are used to seeing Batman use not to mention he had no part in inventing any of his vehicles or gadgets in the film it kind of took away the intelligence and character of the Batman I grew up with. However I totally agree with you on how this universe was set to explain and make things seem plausible in a real world setting. Very cool looking piece overall it reminded me of the HK in the Terminator films. Great review as always very informative thanks again for sharing this.

Hey Jamie, Yeah, I agree with you about some of the design characteristics in the Dark Knight Trilogy. While I loved the Tumbler from the beginning, the BAT definitely took some time to grow on me. I also agree with you about Bruce Wayne not being active enough in the development of his gear/gadgets but I particularly missed that "detective" characteristic in the movies. Still, love this model. It's not the most detailed BAT in my collection but it's still very nice and it looks super cool in the Batcave that Barry and Stew made. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the comparison with the other versions from matchbox and hot wheels. Looks like this is the one to get for me since I want only one and this seems to be the best of the lot.

I like the Bat, not as much as the Batwing but it's pretty cool, I don't consider it a "plane" or "jet" I consider it more of a hovercraft type vehicle.

Watched this earlier Richard, sorry for the delay getting to it!! So glad I could help you pick this up, It really does capture the Bat perfectly and the alleyway diorama was a great choice by Eaglemoss....I've handled Barry's version of this issue and yeah it's really fragile with those front sections. So so cool seeing the Bat in your Batcave diorama...you really covered all the key points in the review and it was awesome seeing your entire Bat collection in the same shot. Now just to add the new Hot Toys version huh??? lol As always I can't wait for your next review buddy, thanks for sharing

Stewart! Sorry about the delay in my reply. Yeah, the Batcave was made for models like The Bat. It looks incredible in there. The model is still sitting on the platform as I type this response. I recently saw the possible price point for the deluxe version of the Hot Toys Bat. I like the model...but I don't like it that much, LOL. Besides, I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going to display the next 40 Batmobiles!! I definitely need a bigger Cave. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Great piece!... one of my favorite scenes was when THE BAT came out of the alley way and for a brief moment The BAT makes the white slits of Batman's cowl in the dark.. look at the show and pause the movie... pretty cool. The BAT and Catwoman we too both of my favorite parts of the film... i would have to throw in "Robin" John Blake as well. Eaglemoss is doing a great job on these. A great piece for your collection. I do have to ask you about your Batcave... did you make it or did you pick it up some where? Love the channel Richard.. keep em coming!

Thanks, Rob! Believe it or not, I do own TDKR. The Bat and Anne Hathaway are still the only things that bring me back (that and a good old high school friend has a bit part in the movie). The Bat has definitely grown on me and the model looks great. It's not the most detailed version in my collection but it does look pretty cool in the Batcave. The Batcave was made for me by Barry and Stewart. It's pretty cool, huh? It's been great as an alternative review space. Love it! Great review Richard. This is one of my own faves of the line. I used this to get started on my 1/24 scale replica(Which in itself is only a study for the 1/6th version). Also, the Bat is twice the size in each dimension of the Tumbler. Twice as wide, and twice as long. ^_^

Are you planning on getting the 1/12 scale deluxe Hot Toys Bat? I've never purchased anything by them but I'm seriously considering this one - especially because of the scale. The detail in unreal. Plus, the deluxe has the Selina Kyle figure and fusion reactor. As I mentioned in the video, The Cat and The Bat were really the only two things that I really liked about the movie so the deluxe version is going to be my preferred choice. Thanks, buddy! Arkham89 - The Batmobile I have to say i *am* considering The Bat. Seriously considering it. In 1/12, it will be the same size as the Hot toys tumbler, so it will be a fair size, but not *too* big. And will be ideal reference for the 1/6 Bat if i don't get it made by late 2015 when the 1/12 one comes out... I will see how my finances are when we move house and perhaps put it on order then.

nice Collection. i do little research for my collection. i like 1:50 scale model but the bat hot wheels elite one its not match. So i buy Revoltech The Bat, Hot wheels Elite one Batmobile Tumbler and Tomica Bat Pod. Those pretty much match up. i am compare the model with the blue print.

how did you remove the figure from the base? I'm having trouble doing so.

Hey Nicholas! Thank you so much for subscribing and taking the time to watch my video. I have also had problems taking some of the Eaglemoss Batmobiles off of their bases. Some are easy to unscrew while some of the others have required me to spray the underside (where the screws are) with WD-40 in order to get the screws to budge. The screws on the base of my Bat were pretty easy to remove. These particular scews are much longer because of the clear pegs that the model sits on. Be careful when you take The Bat off of those clear pegs. Mine had a clear fluid (oil?) inside the pegs. It could leak out and damage the print on the base. I hope this helps. I needed sadly to use a drill to destroy the screws, to remove the models. Which left also a bigger hole on the base (size of he head of he screw). Didn't knew WD40 could help. Will try it in the future.

I have the full collection, of all movies, but the last, movie an did not, much like it. Bat bike, an flying vehicle. Bat cycle, an Batman an cat women. Movie is ok, but overdone. What I also did not like is the bad guys, with the vehicles, like Batman. Just my opinion.

The Tumbler is ugly as sin, but it's grown on my a bit. I thought TDKR was an epic fail, can't believe the same people that made TDK made that terrible movie. I don't mind the Bat. I dropped my "Bat" eaglemoss so I had to super glue the arms back on but it wasn't to hard, it looks good as new. They should've called it "The Lobster" not "The Bat" !!! lol. I wish they had the front view of the Bat displayed and not the side view with the #D display background. that would be better for display purposes. Another great review!

I'm one of those fans who loved the Tumbler from day one but so many other things about The Dark Knight Trilogy (like The Bat) also took some time to grow on me. I certainly understand what you're saying about TDKR. I mention in the video the only two things that I liked about the movie. I've sometimes referred to The Bat as "The Roach" because the underbelly looks sorta insect-like but I think I'm going to start using "The Lobster" LOL. That works so much better! I also agree with you about the way Eaglemoss displayed this model in the case. It would look so much better (and make more sense with the background) if it were facing forward. Thanks again.
