Watch this on a PC monitor or a TV and you will realize how utterly STUPID vertical filming is. It cuts off A LOT left and right. Definitely the DUMBEST trend in recent years.

EXACTLY!!! I almost always watch on my laptop. Vertical filming used to be the only way we could film because the phones didn't have a rotate to landscape mode. But the format was still wider than high i.e. kind of landscape. What irks me the most is people who take a beautiful panoramic or action scene and chop off the edges by using vertical format and continually move their phone back and forth when SIMPLY TURNING THE PHONE ON ITS SIDE would result in an almost world-class video (or photo). Vertical filming also makes people way more myopic and when filming themselves--narcissistic--because there's only room for THEM in the frame.
