Diesel dominance under the wire. Surprising. Perhaps the proximity to DLW has something to do with it. Glad to see cleaner platforms, but people's love affair with polythene bags still persist. The tracks are literally fighting their way through them. Thanks for shooting and sharing. Cheers!

I absolutely agree!! The litter on this route is unbelievable in many places, but the stations do seem somewhat cleaner. The use of diesel locos could be due to incomplete electrification, but the use of Alcos is almost unforgivable given huge amount of smoke they generate which is toxic to human beings (as is ALL diesel smoke).

The platforms and yard lines of Lucknow (NR) are the dirtiest in Indian Railways system with all rubbish material littered everywhere. This careless attitude of LKO (NR) is not newly created nuisance and has been very happily accepted for the last 30-40 years by the concerned officials. Stray cattle are found freely roaming on the platforms. DRM and other officers, it seems, have accepted this nuisance because of their unconcerned attitude.
