Volcarona took too much time to set even with Moltres's help. Basically just pray opponent have bad hand at early - mid phase.

Volcarona is basically Greninja active card support damager. Its a nice 80 damage burst for emergency button play, but of course as we all know that fire type suffered with energy discard afterwards and somewhat 50/50 reliable boost. I wish we get a nice boost besides Moltres, a trainer card would be nice though.

@@tartaglia9018 i actually beat gyara today but I got 3 heads on my Moltres to char and had the char line and Moltres right away. 200 DMG OHKO everyone and gyara doesn't OHKO char. As long as char has 5 energy going in it's 2 kills and the dub

Volcarona is just too inconsistent to set up. I have a bit of a different deck that works pretty good: Moltres EX x2, Volcarona, Rapidash x 2 (one new and one Apex), 2 Pokeball, 2 Research, 2 Blaine, 2 Sabrina, one Leaf, one X speed. Just allows for a bit more quick attacks while setting up Volcarona, otherwise the opponent gets set up too quickly

I think volcarona pays a high tax for being able to send 80 to the bench. Seem useful against the drudigon walls and that enormous gyardos that can’t be one shot by the meta currently.
