A few things I’d like to mention. Moly actually bonds to metal. It doesn’t coat it in a film. Also, you are incorrect on Load Wear Index. The higher the number the greater wear protection. The Schaeffer grease is almost 3x better than the Lucas. The other thing I’d be weary about is using a Polyurea thickener in a grease. If you ever have to switch to something else, compatibility can become an issue.

From my research lucas xtra hd grease is a (shear stable) Polyurea grease and will not break down other greases. According to grease compatability charts a (shear stable) Polyurea is the safest type of grease to use if you dont know what type of grease was previously used in you application or you have no choice but to mix greases.

Very useful video. I can safely assume Schaeffer 219 or 221 would be fine for greasing oat lift motor in salty environment. Is 274 overkill? Also, would you have a recommendation for Schaeffer as marine grease for outboard engine? thanks a gain

@stephanebogen5411 In that situation, honestly, I would probably run 274. Overkill is never bad when you're protecting your investments. Let me ask my rep on that marine question and I'll get back to you

Agreed. 274 it is for my boat lift. Let me know about marine option. Basically to replace 2-4-C quicksilver when not available. I know Lucas Marine is good too but I really like Shaeffer products.

Is lucas xtra heavy duty Poly Conventional or shear stable? Godbless

Polyurea is incompatible with most other greases, including all your standard lithium greases. For that reason alone i will not touch that Lucas HD grease.

Unless it's a shear stable polyurea, which from my understanding lucas xtra hd is.

Hello Sir: What is a good replacement for the Lucas X-tra and Red & Tacky grease in the Schaeffer grease product line? Also, per the Schaeffer grease product line, what would you recommend for pneumatic air impacts? Thank you in advance for your help.

@chrisparman2080 Schaeffer's 219 or 221 is my go to. I really don't use air impact guns anymore. I have switched to milwaukee for all my tools. But I will say the new harborfreight earthquakes within the last 2 years hit pretty damn hard. Ingersoll Rand makes probably the best 1inch air impact though.
