Love them both, I think Lucy's voice is naturally deepening now with maturity but don't think you can suggest she doesn't still nail the high register I have to say though I'm really impressed with how much Martha's voice has developed in the past year.

Chris, there is something special about sibling harmony. Two instruments built so closely that the sounds compliment. Nice.
@davidwhitelaw65336 күн бұрын
Hi Chris - I have to take issue with your comment about Lucy’s range. Lucy is a soprano with an alto’s low register. Please listen to the sisters singing Pie Jesu where Lucy’s upper register shines. The way she has sung her part in Silent Night suggests a production decision to best balance her voice with Martha’s. Thanks for your continuing support of these two remarkable artists.

Larry, thanks for your reaction. I always look forward to your comments when a new Lucy release drops. I wonder if Lucy might not have been holding back a bit on purpose to let Martha shine a bit. I have heard Lucy hit that note with "umph" many times. At every stage in Lucy's development she has brought Martha along and let her shine too. It is just one more reason that we love Lucy so much. I guess you know that Lucy has passed 1 million KZbin subscribers. I am so proud of her. I agree when you say that this is a wonderful time to be alive. The world is a mess but God allows some real beauty to shine through the darkness. Music is said to be medicine for the soul. And Lucy is a master physician!

I was lucky enough to go to Lucy's West End debut in London. This was her big day, yet she still had time to invite Martha to sing with her. This just emphasises what a wondeful person Lucy is. She described Martha as her "best friend". The bond between then was plain to she. The evening was was truly magical

Hi Chris Love your reaction to our two amazing girls .You are right that Lucy has time for her sister. She even bought her into her London concert ,easily Lucy´s most important todate but she still had time for Martha.I am still getting over the concert it was fabulous Lucy sung 21 songs ,had 9 standing ovations and recieved a 5 star review. But lets get back to this song.I have to disagree with you on two points number 1.This was certainly no where near Lucy´s peak for high notes ,just listen to Pie Jesu or unchained melody to name just two. According to Julliet the online singing coach who has analysed Lucy´s voice many times ,says Lucy is a soprano so can certainly go higher than in this song .The second point I think you were wrong that Martha was taking the high notes she was taking the medium to lower Notes While Lucy was going between the highes and lows. Marthas voice of course has matured and she has more range now. I think there is still a bit of the child like sound to her But she is young.There harmonies are truly amazing I don´t think you could find better. Have a great Christmas Chris and thanks for continuing to support Lucy & Martha.

Lucy was already by some way a better singer then Martha at the equivalent age so I think trying to match Lucy will bare no fruit and I don't mean to downplay or diminish Martha's voice in saying that which is very beautiful in its own right but just nothing exceptional if you ask me. It's like comparing Jonathan with Charlotte in the Jonathan & Charlotte duo. Charlotte had a decent enough voice for sure but not one which was destined for legendary status like Jonathan's powerful Tenor range.

Now, Martha doesn’t want to hear the words…. “She’s gotten so old”….lol. We know what you mean though. She has grown and her hair now matches Lucy’s. Thanks for the reaction. Been watching you for years and just noticed I was not subscribed. I fixed that.

A beautiful rendition. I felt that was fair comment. With Lucy’s most recent drops I was expecting her to come in on a lower key. She can still do the high notes when necessary but I think lower keys are now her future.
@johncollins3926 күн бұрын
The review was bunkum!,he couldn't tell who was singing the high notes for goodness sake!,as regards to Lucy's range I think you ought to revaluate if you think Lucy's future is in the lower tones,she is a Mezzo Soprano!

@ I did not mean lower keys in absolute terms. I meant keys lower than the high key she started in. And I stand by that.

Larry, One more comment on your comment about Lucy not being comfortable in her higher range. I respect your opinion so I went back and listened to the video several times. Try as I might I don't see a bit of what you suggest, i.e. a lack of Lucy's umph. She does not actually belt anything in this song because that would not work. It is a gentle song and requires a soft touch. As she always does, Lucy tried to do justice to the song, to promote the song not Lucy. I love what she did with this and I think any moderation of the umph (if it is actually there) was appropriate and intentional. Just my thoughts Larry, for what it is worth. I do love your zeal for this young remarkable artist. She has enriched all of our lives with her voice and sweet smile. I just think Lucy is a professional and she would never touch a note that she does not have complete and easy control over. Many artists make the mistake of reaching too far and shorten their careers by doing it. Not Lucy. My thoughts for what they are worth (not much). I love what you do Larry. Keep it up.

Sublime,though i think we must be listening to different piece of music!,don't understand your comment on Lucy being at her limit as regards to that top note!,she is considering her sister here as she does every time they sing together!,Lucy could have soared way above the note she delivered if she had wanted too which seems obvious to anyone that has followed her career over the last few years!,also to my ears(maybe they need seringing!) it is Lucy who takes over the high notes as regards to the duet with Martha singing just below her surely!.Anyway just my thoughts,all the same thank you for your continued support as regards to Lucy's career which continues to go from strength to strength with her now having over 1 million subscribers!.😊

Hi ya John -- Lucy is definitely singing the higher melody and Martha singing the low harmony. BUT WE listen to their harmonies much more frequently than he does. I hear the L & M duets every day through my playlist. Martha's voice has matured and is closer to Lucy's now so might be harder to distinguish between the two.

Also, and I know it’s your opinion but this is mine. But also, the end. Those harmonies? If you watch Lucy, you can see her face change when she goes high. They are not switching. Martha sand the low end and Lucy sang the actual higher melody.

@randysimon73636 күн бұрын
Lucy at 15 had a higher voice than she does today. All of this dancing around the issue is silly. Martha is currently a soprano whereas Lucy is a mezzo or even perhaps an alto at this point. None of this is criticism; the two have different voices. Chill.
@Peter-t9n6 күн бұрын
I said it in an earlier comment to the reactor Chris. Go listen to PIE JESU when Lucy takes the note in this is video, even higher. According to several voice coaches, Lucy is the classic soprano.
@pickin4you4 күн бұрын
I think they chose that key because of the word BORN. It’s LOW. Now this is my opinion, but Lucy sang that note way easier than Martha. Martha’s high note was a tad thin. Lucy’s was stronger. Lucy has way more range than she is showing in this song. So we disagree here.
@jbs2566 күн бұрын
Larry, I’ve nit picked you before for not following up your nit picking fest on Tori Holub. I won’t anymore. I saw you reacted to this so I was curious. What I feared was right. You can’t hear A440 tuning. This was pitch corrected up the wazoo. They weren’t hitting those notes, Melodyne was. Their graph was so flat it was a WTF moment. No subtlety at all. Vibrato was perfectly centered long notes were flat on the line. You love Karen, you were “blown away” by Tori. You can combine both of them and multiply and they couldn’t match this performance for pitch accuracy. When you can beat Karen and Tori by a multiple factor, something is not right. Sigh…
@johncollins3926 күн бұрын
Someone else with no idea as regards vocal prowess!,just another one jumping on the debate as regards to pitch correction,Lucy certainly dosen't need it to sound great as her live performances will show you!,also pitch correction when used actually does nothing to enhance the vocals,actually takes away any character from the voice!
