An independant fact-checking of the allegations of the book? In 1987, after the release of AYLT, it would have been probably easy to perform for anyone slightly motivated and media-savvy. Material evidence was still fresh. Most witnesses were still alive. But I guess nobody was really interested in it. What's the point of going against the prevailing view? Both women just got mocked and more or less mediatically executed.

I'm not privy to the details of the matter. Desirée would have wanted one but was denied. Her words. You can easily understand that the estate would have never let that happen. Now, with Lisa's death, it is certain it is never going to happen.

What's stopping her from going on 23andMe or Ancestry, putting her DNA in the system and seeing what genetic relatives pop out? My guess is that she probably suspects Elvis is not her Dad, but too much of her identity is wrapped up in being his love child. So if she finds out he isn't, then she will know that everything she has believed her life to be for the past 45 years has been a lie made up by a mother who wanted fame and attention.

​@@kop8291 People can be legally married but not necessarily still together as a couple or even living in the same household, let alone actually having sex with each other. Especially not in those days when divorce was deemed utterly shameful and therefore socially unacceptable. The mother will know what the odds are and while there is definitely a chance that Lucy IS Elvis's biological child one never can tell. She does sort of look like him and her mother was clearly a gorgeous looking woman back in her day, when she likely even then had that long black hair, such as what Elvis made Priscilla do hers like. I bet they did have sex together. However, I personally dislike the fact that her other children (whom I'm guessing were either older or lived elsewhere, possibly with her husband or other family) all knew about the matter long before either Elvis or Lucy did. Not very loving to either of them! Also, that implies that many lies were told, ergo, the need for a DNA test. Poor Lucy! The Jezebel vibes are strong when it comes to her mother, yet she seems like a very sweet and innocent woman.

And I think IF she really is Elvis' daughter then he had every right to know.. that said Desiree's mother kept it from him and that was wrong.. she said it was before he went in the service . Elvis himself could've done DNA testing so that they all would've known and that would've been the right thing to do.. not wait til he passed away to come out with this is his daughter .. In Lucy's case, she said she was then going through a lengthy divorce process and separated from the psychopathic criminal she was 'married' to. As far as the other kids, well, it has to do with protecting the privacy of minors not directly involved in the matter. It's all well explained in the book. DNA testing of course didn't exist during Elvis' lifetime.
