This is the funniest comedy show to ever be on TV. Genius!

What a great time to be alive, lol. Those live audiences were living the dream!
@chrisfinch8637Ай бұрын
And yet, I can always imagine how people in those audiences and such were well-behaved, well-dressed, and properly organized, compared to today’s audiences.
@donnawheeler6283Ай бұрын
@chrisfinch8637 , everyone dressed in their best before leaving home. The styles in the 40s and 50s were tailored to fit well and looked so nice. Today, the clothes are polyester or recycled ♻️ polyester which means we're wearing baggy, plastics and baggy recycled ♻️ plastics instead of natural fabrics like wool, cotton, linen and leather. We'll pay with our health by wearing plastics every day. Sad.

When I hear the 'live' audience laughing I laugh more. The canned laughter from todays sitcoms suck, it's very annoying to me!

Desi was one of the most brilliant comedians of his time and never got enough credit for it. His timing was perfect. And this is one of Frawley's best tidbits. Lucy got to work with the inimitable Gale Gordon here, years before her later shows. He was originally intended to be cast as Fred Mertz, With Bea Benaderet as Ethel, but I'm guessing Gordon had his commitment to Our Miss Brooks and Benaderet to Burns and Allen standing in the way. By the way, much as I love those two actors, Desi got it right with Vance and Frawley.

@@gnirolnamlerf593 Lucy’s good friend, Barbara Pepper, who Lucy knew before Desi and Vivian, couldn’t be reliable in playing Ethel either - I guess because she would ..drink at times? But sometimes Lucy would have her show up in bit parts throughout the series … 🙂🙂

Such a great show. Lucille Ball was a genius. They all were in their own ways (Desi with production and business) but she was the true genius. Fussy and tough but she got it right every time! ❤
@Curious2Know217 күн бұрын
Desi was the reason the shows were taped, so they could be rerun and sold. Otherwise, it would have been once and done with nothing remaining of that marvellous series. Desi was as brilliant in his field as she was in hers.

Why do you always comment under these videos about how times have changed? Anyone with a brain knows the 50s were seven decades ago. You can stop repeating yourself.

@@djervalevy9784 Is that what I "always" do? Please cite examples, as it sounds like you should be able to provide multiple, so three should be very easy if you possess any credibility. @@pacnwguy9056 Seeing as how KZbin is free space where anyone can comment anything, and I have a right to respond to whoever I want to, I don't need to know you or have any credentials to respond to your comment. Great scene but you cut it off before Mr. Littlefield said the schedule thing was a load of bunk and he ripped it up. He said the schedule was no way to run a home but a perfect way to run a business and gave Ricky the promotion to manager.

This I Love Lucy account only wanted to show the scene where they were having a “fast-paced” dinner according to Lucy’s schedule, and to teach Ricky a lesson on how this schedule impacts her daily priorities.
