Thank you Bob for another very well thought out reaction to Lucy’s latest release. The words and phrases that come to my mind are classy, style, elegance, pure perfect beautiful vocals, maturity, musicality, technical perfection, emotional connection. Lucy show us here that she is well and truly ready to realise her destiny and take her place on the world stage. She has earned her chance. Is the world ready for Lucy? Absolutely. She will be triumphant.

All next year. Wait until you hear her version of 1000years.Hope we will get a video of that soon. Thanks for your continued support for Lucy. Happy New Year

Just an added comment Bob, I think we all get so taken by Lucy's awesome voice and her beauty that, we forget that there are some other people who have been working behind the scenes to help make these videos what they are. Certainly, I don't know how many people it takes to these great videos but, they never seem to get much of a pat on the back for their efforts. And Lucy never disappoints, does she! My opinion, she is the best out there!
@GaryScharf-c3t11 ай бұрын
Great reaction Bob! In my opinion, Lucy just gets better with every new song she comes out with. Not to mention, she seems to get prettier by the day. Maybe the color of her dress has something to do with it, that may be her color. I really like her voice when she sings in that lower register, I think it is softer, silkier and smoother. Truth is, no matter what part of the scale she sings on, it would be fantastic. I just love her voice, period!

Bob you missed a new Lucy and Martha song last week. But no problem you reacting genuinely relaxed with a glass of wine or something stronger. 🍷 Lucy has sung many genres and many here on KZbin you’ve not reacted to. This is an artistic production back set in an old building worn and torn with pale shades to the contrasting colour and rich tones of Lucy. Everything and all, and only what’s needed, but pleased it stayed simple and focused on Lucy.

Hi Bob. This was absolutely briliant from Lucy. She doesn't shy away from any genre. Go to LucyThomasMusic and take a look at her rendition of the Etta James classic "At Last" at seventeen years old it is remarkable. But why would we be surprised, she's a vocal genius.!!

Bob, I knew you'd like this one. As you said, staying in her soft lower register really made this a chill-out rendition. Also, her voice and style on this one also added an emotional push on the overall piece. So emotional, in fact, that I went to watch it for a second time and it flattened me; had to turn it off. I made it through this time though. This video also proves what you said in an earlier reaction to one of her videos. You said "when you year Lucy you know it's Lucy". True here, even a slightly different register and style and you still had her voice, very clean diction, and her superb vibrato. The only one I remember being so unique that I could recognize her was Karen Carpenter (don't say it, I'm old). The first word or two and I immediately knew it was Karen.

Yes you did know it was Karen and she was great ,but Lucy is even better

You seemed pretty lucid for the lateness of the hour. Everything you said was right on. For a soprano her lower register is silky smooth and they way she navigates upper and lower is nothing short of amazing. Lucy and Martha released right before this song Mary Did You Know. Martha's voice so beautiful and Lucy unleash's her power. I know it is a Christmas song but, it's an amazing version. My opinion the best Thanks..

BOB, I HAVE AND LISTENED TO ALL HER SONGS FROM AGE 8_10_13 YOU COULD TELL THE FIRST SONG SHE DID AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE SHE WAS THEE SINGER OF THE FUTURE. AFTER 14 SHE WAS GAME ON. I LIKE THE WAY YOU DO REACTIONS. IT JUST SHOWS NATURAL REACTION LIKE WE ALL HAVE AS WE ARE NOT SINGERS. JUST TO WATCH AND LISTEN DOES IT ALL FOR US.BY THE WAY DID YOU SEE LUCY ACTUALLY SHOWCASE HER FINGERS DURING THE SONG. I LIKED THAT. I AM THINKING YOU ARE JUST A YOUNG GUY BUT BUT 79 THERE ARE FEW SINGERS I WANT TO LISTEN TO REPEATEDLY. I GOT ALL HER CD'S AND I LISTEN EVERY TIME IN THE CAR. AND CAN WATCH HER FOR AN HOUR IN THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY AND BEFORE I SLEEP. SHE IS LIKE MEDITATION MUSIC TO ME. HAVE A WONDERFUL 2024. GOD BLESS YOU. JOE

This is one of those songs that belongs to the original artists. Lucy did a beautiful rendition of this Procol Harum song. It is hard to hear this one without Gary Brooker’s voice (RIP), I will have to play Lucy’s a few times to really get the beauty of the song again 🥰

Now you are watching a young woman who will have her first solo concert in Manchester (UK) in March 2024... Yes Lucy is growing up. What I do like with all covers Lucy takes on: they are always done with deep respect to the orginal song: you can always recognize how the orginal was at the time of recording. Angelina Jordan does that as well and to me that makes these young singers even more impressive. I do not know if Lucy has recorded many more songs in this lower register of her voice. But there are tons of songs in which she used all her voice registers.
@christopherrosas273811 ай бұрын
Love this song, both the original and this cover, the lower register in her voice is done to give almost the same gravitas as the original..... if you haven't heard the original by Procol Harum I highly recommend doing so.....

Lucy put in another great performance and the focus on her lower register was very welcome. Also a beautiful music video. But I don’t think they got the post-production voice effects quite right. I think reverb was better applied with the Annie Lennox version.

Hi Bob, I'm back again and I'm Just curious. It's quite noticeable that you haven't reacted to any of Lucy's original songs from her forth coming Musical "ROSIE" . Are you not a fan of Musicals?? . There are quite a few to choose from but if you want proof that Lucy can adapt to any genre then take a look at "Broken Dreams" and then the closing song to the show "We can change the world" Both remarkable and show casing yet again Lucy's phenomenal talent.
@ModernLifeForThe70sMind9 ай бұрын
Hi. How's things? Honestly, no, I'm definitely not a fan of musicals. But with that said, that would not keep that from me listening to a song of hers. The only problem has been is that I've got SO MANY songs to react to, and I've only got so much time to get to them. I've done a good number of Lucy songs. I'm sure at some point I'll hit one from a musical. Not avoiding them, just haven't reacted to one yet.
@pedromancenithe3rd9 ай бұрын
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Thanks Bob, I appreciate your reply. I'm not a massive fan of musicals myself but my point was really to illustrate Lucy's versatility and her incredible range, particularly in the song "Broken Dreams". By the way, I think you've chosen a good format for your channel, with only one or two pauses and your detailed thoughts at the end of the video is different from any other reactor. Perhaps we'll see that KZbin plaque on the wall soon!!

Lucy Thomas is not singing this song in a lower register. She has simply grown physically more mature. Her thyroid cartilage, which houses the larynx, is now thicker and stiffer and offers a more vibrant (ie. lower) and richer tone. Her vocal cords are ever so slightly thicker and stronger. I don't think she has lost any range in her voice, just that the basic timber is more mature. Although I have loved Lucy's singing for several years now, I really love this mature version she has grown into. The depth of her voice now conveys more soul and emotional impact than ever before. Having said that, I do not know if her maturation process has reached its culmination, which most humans reach in their mid-20's. Her voice may change still more over the next couple of years. I simply anticipate more delight and enjoyment in her career.
