Just got back home in Tennessee from Lucy’s concert in London where she sang this and about 20 other songs. It is without any doubt the best concert that I have ever attended. Lucy was phenomenal singing with more power, tenderness, passion, emotions, and skill than has ever been on KZbin. A beautiful, iconic setting in the large though intimate Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End. The first part was classic tunes and show tunes that she performed flawlessly. My adult daughter has been a voice student and typically a rather difficult person to please. She has heard some of Lucy’s videos and had been impressed though reserved. After the concert, she was ecstatic noting that she did not sing a single note flat or have to slide into the note to get the pitch perfect - she hit every note over 2.5 hours perfectly. She controlled the stage and received multiple standing ovations. I have listened to every recording on KZbin multiple times but never heard Lucy sing with such control, power, passion, and emotion. There is no doubt in my mind that Lucy is the best vocalist of our time and most likely of all time. Waiting for her to be appreciated by more people.

I commented to your review on another channel. Just to say I'm pleased you returned home safely. You never know but you may not have to travel so far next time, since it may be on the cards the Lucy could tour the States in the not too dixtant future.

Lucy has only been out of school for a year or so. She’s 20 years old. Rosie the Musical has been written with her in mind as the lead and is expected to open in London’s West End next year. She is very interested in musical theater as well as concerts. We’ll just have to see where life takes her. She has enough talent to go far.

Hi Zack Glad you got to this Lucy has sung this live in her concerts but this the studio version released 18 hours ago.And she just nails it Apparently her Tokyo concert was a great success not a dry eye in the building and a 3 min standing ovation she even sang in Japanese.This is a sad song and Lucy shows all the emotions she is just an incredible artist .Best version I have ever heard. Hey Zack - great react - Thx! This is a very sad and reflective song & I found Lucy's cover of this to hit very hard - simply beautiful. Lucy just finished a concert in Tokyo last week and she is headlining an event at The Drury Lane Theatre/West End London on 10/22, which will include a 30 piece Orchestra. Rosie the Musical is coming. Agree with you - with her voice, talent and passion - she could be just outstanding in just about any musical endeavour - at 20 yrs old - lots of great options ahead for her - I can't wait to see it & hear it. Hey Zack. Again you are right on with your Lucy reaction. Just FYI.....Lucy's management has a "musical genre" lean. Lucy herself has expressed a desire to eventually sing in front of large crowds in a large venues, singing pop ballads, crossovers as well as musical numbers. To that end, Lucy is at a crossroads with the direction of her career. Rosie the musical was written by her management team, specifically Chris Broom, with Lucy in the starring role. There will be no Rosie without Lucy. It is set to play sometime after the first of the year in the West End London. No date has been given yet. Like I said, Lucy wants to sing any genre as long as the song is beautiful and something to her liking with a good message and makes people feel good. Those are her words. Personally, I am just waiting for Lucy to get hold of a block buster pop ballad original music. I think such a song would send her career into the stratosphere.

Thank you for supporting Lucy Thomas! Musical theater has always been one of Lucy's passions. She is currently doing concerts but is expected to star in the musical "Rosie" sometime in 2025. One of the songs from that musical is "Suddenly" recorded by her at age 15. It is available to react to on UTUBE. That video showed her extraordinary talent at such a young age. While Lucy is tailor made for musicals, if that was her only format, the world would miss out on so much of what she has to offer!

I see you do not know the story of : The miserables. This song is much darker than you said The song is sang by "Fantine" . Fantine had a child out of wedlock. So she is fired from the factory, and then her life goes down day after day. First , the street, then selling her hair and teeth to give money to the low life couple "caring" for her daughter. Until she dies. The manager of the factory, who fired her, understood his mistake and will take care of the daughter. If you have time someday , I recommend this book to you. Lucy captured perfectly the darkness of the story♥️🥰😉

I think Lucy is fantastic. The best singer of the last 2 decades. The only thing I would like her to improve is puting emotions in the way she sings. Think Lara Fabian instead of Celine Dion. Otherwise, I agree you cannot fault her for anything, she has a beautiful tone, a great range and she looks like an angel. If her career is managed correctly, she should become the next global star.

So, how do you think this song should have been sung. Hmm, perhaps jazz it up a bit, or chuck in some guitar solo. This is exactly how the writer intended it to be performed in a melancholy way. It's a sad song.

@@pedromancenithe3rd It is not a happy but a very sad song from a girl, lower class in the 19 th century. She had a dream, once, but then the "tigers" came and torn her dream apart. She could not have the life she once dreamed about. So to the title "les misérables". I don't hear the sadness in Lucy's singing. She should "live" the song. If I translate the song to reality, she ended in prostitution.

Lucy is at a crossroads. Does she wish to become a superb actress or remain an exceptional singer. If you are comparing this performance to Anne Hathaway's movie version, I think you are trying to compare apples and pears, because any one off studio video of a song from a musical has different objectives to the movie, or stage, production! I think that your comment demonstrates naivety about the different music mediums and disrespect for, quite probably, the finest vocalist that has emerged this century! 😊
