I was at Lucy’s concert and by sheer luck sat next to Louise ( Lucy and Martha’s mum) as her daughters received several, well deserved standing ovations, one even before Lucy sang a note - please see the “ Somewhere” live video released 11 days ago. This was Lucys first public, full length concert anywhere, her next will be on September 8th in Tokyo and will be called “ Lucy Thomas, we can change the World” because this is the favourite of all Lucy’s songs with the Japanese public! As a side note as I write Lucy, Martha, Louise and James Breckon (the pianist who accompanied Lucy at Stoller Hall) are on their way to Dallas for a private concert. Oh and Martha sang two duets with Lucy “ Wonderful World” and “The prayer” to close out the first half of the concert.

Musical fan or not. I think you can do a lot worse than listen to Lucy singing the songs of this musical. Chris Broom is a great composer. We had the honour to be at this concert and experience the whole thing live and meet her afterwards. Still recovering 🥰 She is such a lovely person. So is her sis Martha and the rest of the family.

This gives a real taste of how good 'Rosie' will be when it opens. Sadly, my health won't let me attend, when the time comes, but those who are able to will have a real treat. Would love to think that a DVD of the show might be issued one day

Chris Broom has won many awards for his songwriting and the musical "Rosie" will be a resounding success especially with Lucy leading the way in the starring role. Lucy is the best vocalist around today and is such a beautiful person, so good natured and such a nice personality. Lucy's voice sounds warm because Lucy is warm. So proud of her and her wonderful family.

If you're just looking at pure talent, there sure aren't many (if any) that are much better. There are several singers that are crazy good (Lara Fabian and Angelina Jordan for example), but it's hard to say who's better than who since they have different styles. I think I've proven that I'm a huge Lucy fan! Ha

Her first song for Cavendish records (Chris Broom) was also an original: One Day. This one was meant to be sung by the young Rosie but she got too old for it due to COVID delay. It was this song that got her the Musical- and the Record contract at the tender age of 13. You can find it together with 9 other gems in: Lucy Thomas - Rare recordings on KZbin. About her concert: She did 2 duets with Martha that evening: Wonderful world and The Prayer. WOW!

Thank you for another excellent Lucy reaction. This original song written by the talented and award winning Chris Broom is brought to life by Lucy. Lucy demonstrates the power of her stage voice and presence. I have never been so excited about any entertainer as I am with and for Lucy! She is something else. So much talent, beauty and charisma...all in one beautiful package. Lucy has a gorgeous tone with perfect pitch. Lucy is phenomenal. Only once in a lifetime does someone like Lucy come along! She makes a masterpiece of every song she sings!! We are all blessed to have Lucy spreading love and light in our troubled world. She is a divine gem!!

Hello Bob, I love your reaction to Lucy singing this amazing song live at her first live concert, " We Can Change The World " this was 17th song she had sunk, including two with her sister Martha that evening, truly amazing & reading the reports from the concert everbody was blow away, with a three minute standing ovation at the end. Her first song was " Somewhere " which is also live on youtube so take a look at that one as well. Take care Barbara.

Hi Bob - good to see you back with a Lucy reaction - she has been busy. She put out a cover of this from studio not that long ago, which was also beautiful, however this "live" version is nothing short of SECTACULAR! The richness and beauty of her voice is astounding and as good as any I have ever heard (and she just turned 20 - SMH). This was the closing song from her first live concert in Manchester UK last month. They have also put out the opening song "Somewhere", which is also amazing - recommend you check it out. Overall she sang 15 solo songs at the concert and 2 songs with Martha - it seems like they will be periodically posting these songs over the coming weeks/months. Look forward to your next one.

You used the word “masterclass” in describing this live performance by Lucy. I agree with everything you say about her and I can think of nothing else to add Bob. And, as you state, this is also a masterclass in song writing by Chris Broom, there is no question about that. But while we are on the subject of master classes. I am here to tell you that this reaction video by you is also a masterclass in the art of listening, watching, thinking about, reflecting upon and expressing genuine heartfelt thoughts and feelings live in front of a camera and microphone. Brilliant job, Bob. I tip my hat to you. Thank you for your support of Lucy and Chris and the Rosie project. Oh, and by the way you are not the only person who had the idea about having Martha do harmonies on this song. Juliet, Your Online Singing Coach, also suggested this.
@ModernLifeForThe70sMind
@ModernLifeForThe70sMind 6 ай бұрын
Other people have mentioned Juliet. She must be quite good, although I'm not a singing coach so I could never keep with what she probably points out. Glad to hear that we agreed on something though. LOL I think I've only used the word Masterclass a couple of times, but never in reference to a singer. Lucy clearly changed all of that. I bet "Juliet" didn't say that! LOL Just kidding. I have TONS of respect for people who can analyze singing at such a high level. Anyways, thanks for the compliment and the listen. Have a great day.

Excellent reaction as usual to this final song to the Rosie Musical. If you go to Lucy's studio version of this song, it's hard to tell the difference, she' that good. Martha does, as I understand, do two duets with Lucy at this concert and they will probably be uploaded at some point for us to see. By the way, If we see smoke rising in front of the camera we'll know you've cross wired something.

I don’t know what to say here Bob. You did a masterful job here reacting to this video. Lucy did what Lucy always does. Amazing. I have never followed a singer like I have followed Lucy. I ran into a Lady the other night that was from the Wigen area in UK. So I told her about Lucy and she was unaware of her. I got my head phones and phone out and let her listen to a few of Lucy’s music. I am sure Lucy has a new fan from her home town. Thanks for your support of Lucy. If you need any help with your little electronic project give me a shout. I have a EE degree.

Hi Bob so glad you got around to playing this beautiful song written by Chris Broom for Lucy in fact Chris has written all the songs for the Musical "Rosie" many award winning .Lucy is starring in the musical opening in London early next year .Rossie has been in the making for years and was put back due to Covid and Lucy still being at school and unavailable until now. And yes musicals are not everyone's cup of tea but you cant deny the beauty of the music and Lucy singing. I always look forward to your reactions to Lucy as you seem to have always loved Lucy´s music. I was however sad to see that she appears to have gone down in your estimation as her large photo is missing from your wall which you have often pointed out and is now a hardly visible cd cover. I also sent you a link to Lucy´s other released song from this concert "Somewhere" Which is one I remember you saying you wanted to hear after you did La Vie En Rose .So here it is again should you want to do it.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ_RdaiHgc-Xorssi=jXVQqU2ZIS6RNmtJ Thanks for your support for Lucy.

For a different slant you should react to Sissel Kyrkjebø. The premier crossover mezzo-soprano of two generations. She can sing ANYTHING from pop to jazz to opera in any language. I suggest her duet cover... Josh Groban & Sissel @ The Nobel Peace Prize Concert ... The Prayer.
