For me, Lucy is one of the best singers in the world because she not only sings the song, but also lives it. Hardly any other singer can hold a candle to Lucy in this sense. Lucy is the most honest singer in the way she presents her songs to us. I am so happy that I discovered Lucy 4 years ago - probably the most beautiful and fulfilling discovery in recent years. Will Callan fits Lucy's voice perfectly! Btw. - I had exactly the same feeling about her smiling...

Juliet, thanks for the very nice reaction, I'm right there with you. You mentioned how Lucy was taking several large jumps, but to my ears she landed them perfectly and beautifully. Her head voice (falsetto?) is very beautiful and I agree there's no need to belt here. Will has a very nice mellow voice and the harmony was done exquisitely. The final resolve at the end was very sweet and typical for Lucy, and hit my mind as a stage show wrap up. Plus we cannot forget Lucy's beautiful vibrato which was very delicately applied this time. Absent vocal gymnastics, this piece allowed Lucy's technique and excellent execution to shine. Definitely "WOW!" worthy.
@spencerbutterbaugh6104 Жыл бұрын
I am no expert here but, I keep hearing that head voice and falsetto are the same. So I looked it up and they are not Falsetto is usually sung by a male (tenor). Females can sing falsetto also. Look it up, very interesting.

@@spencerbutterbaugh6104 Thanks for the education. But it doesn't alter my point that on the high jumps she lands them perfectly.

Juliet, a couple of added thoughts. When Lucy jumps up to her falsetto and has her beautiful vibrato on top of it, although it's a very light note the vibrato just makes that note pierce me; light but powerful. Also, Will brought back memories of Christopher Plummer singing Edelweiss in "The Sound of Music". Will has a very smooth light tone here. ( just ramblings from a very senior citizen ).

Thanks for this excellent reaction and your ongoing support of Lucy. In case no one else has answered your query, a studio cast album of Rosie - The Musical, featuring all of the key songs, will be released around February 2024. This will be followed by the launch of the live show in London in the second half of 2024. My suspicion is that Will Callan will play the male lead but this has not yet been confirmed. Other news about Lucy is that two live concerts are planned early next year, one in Manchester and in one London. This will be the first major public show for Lucy. Privately, she has performed twice in the last two weeks, once in Dallas Texas for a Mr and Mrs Best and on the 14th October, Lucy was the guest entertainer at the 83rd birthday of none other than Sir Cliff Richard (English musical royalty). Finally, Lucy’s 5th album will be released in November. It will be another stunning collection of musical magic by a vocalist of exceptional talent. Look out for that. Lucy Thomas is on her way to superstardom IMHO.

Juliet, watch Lucy's eyes. She's looking up at Will (he's very tall) and when she sings about clouds or anything elevated she really looks up. Her face goes right along with the lyrics. One reactor mentioned than some 'sing' and some 'perform'. Not just here but in a lot of her videos she performs partly by where her eyes are looking. And where there's a first person implication she brings her hands to her chest to include herself in the lyrics. She is an all-in-one package.

How beautiful is this song??? WOW! It’s sung in a way that highlights young love. Lucy is able to mix her pitch so many times n still have plenty of her silky smooth tones at every level. I keep thinking how can she keep getting better??? It’s amazing. Will truly compliment’s Lucy’s voice. He reminds me of an Opera Musical singer on the horizon also destined for a good future. This song just melts into our hearts n puts a smile on our face. Can you please review Lucy’s version of EVERGREEN. I think it’s her best ever song . Thanks again 👌🌹

There are a couple of performances where Lucy doesn't smile at the end and both of these are deeply emotional and heavy empathy: "She Used to be Mine" and "Someone You Loved"; no smiles from Lucy on these as the intensity, emotion, and passion are overwhelming in these, you should react to both!

Juliet, regarding the chorus, those notes may be a large jump but in my non-professional ears she lands them perfectly and puts her vibrato on them too. The two highest notes are so pure they almost sound operatic. Plus the little ornamentation she added is super. Little things like really standout to me emphasizing Lucy's outstanding talent.

Hi Juliet. Once again a wonderful performance from both Lucy and Will. You said you would like more details of the musical "Rosie" Other than the fact it is scheduled for sometime in 2024 in the West End, I think that is about it at the moment. As you said, all these songs from Rosie have been show cased over quite a long time. However if you want to see where this all started then take a look at Lucy's very first song from the musical, called "One Day". Even at the tender age of thirteen, she performs a master class in every aspect of the performance. Her perfect diction highlights that fact that she's English. I've left a link below as it can be a little hard to find. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIi5gYGepN5snM0

Thanks for the react Juliet, a little back story, Lucy met Will on the UK Kids back when she was 14, Will is 9 months older than Lucy, and taller, they were both eliminated in the same semi finalist round, and Lucy has done 2 other song with will way back right after UK Kids, they were "WHEN I FIRST MET YOU, and CAN I HAVE THIS DANCE, Lucy at 14 was over powered by Will in both, what I don't care for when a powerful male sings with a woman, but it appears Will toned this down and also Lucy has more power, This song is said to be the "Shed scene" from ROSIE where they get caught in a rain storm, all that is said as I think they are keeping the story line "close to their chest" and not say too much, ROSIE is set to open in West London "Fall of 2024" Check out their earlier songs and do not forget Lucy's first Commercial recording of ONE DAY, her start to stardom, it is REALLY worth watching, and you get to see some "Farm scenes" of Lucy at 13 !!! Thanks again !!!!
