this was an awesome video (as all of your videos are). I actually did the 75 hard challenge during COVID shutdowns to keep myself motivated to stay on it and make the most of each day. I think it was a great time for it. It was definitely tough but I'm glad I did it. Running makes a big difference on the strain, for sure, I think just due to the high impact nature of it because I always recover so much better if my cardio is lower impact combined with weight training. Love your vids. Been watching them for YEARS but rarely comment.

It is absolutely a challenge. Completed this a couple years ago during lockdown actually and I have to say it felt INCREDIBLE once done. The key for me was being realistic about the workouts. You absolutely have to adjust incorporating things like yoga/walks…things that aren’t as impactful. That was a quick personal lesson learned. But it was about perspective and more mental than anything 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@eva03122 жыл бұрын
@@reverethepatriot1776 yeah there is some truth to that, a healthy adult with a normal food intake can drink up to 15 liters of water per day. For someone on a (strict) diet, this is a maximum of 5 liters of water per day. But it also depends on how quickly you drink the water, drinking a large amount of water in a very short period of time can do serious harm.

@SpudMan Define "healty people"? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20% of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks. You can't define "healthy people" by the amount of water they drink, being healthy depends on A LOT of other variables. You can drink 5L water a day and eat junk food all day...

I feel any challenge that you can not do for the rest of your life, or that requires you to follow some kind of diet is toxic. People need to stick to something that’s consistent and that can be done every single day, forever. That is the reason why there is so much disordered behaviour around food and excercise.

I actually think this challenge is quite good. I've been blessed with a high metabolism and have been in the gym for over a decade so none of these challenges/diets appeal to me. That being said, my younger sister has always struggled to stick to a routine, be it eating or in the gym. So having this challenge before her did her the world of good. I didn't think she'd last a week, but with it being 75 days she had that target in her mind. And to her credit she made it the entire 75 days, lost weight and felt better about herself, and it also showed her (and me) that she IS capable of pushing herself when she needs to. Yes I also believe if a diet or workout plan isn't maintainable then it's usually not worth doing, but I now think in some circumstances it can be the push some people need.

So after that I have to take a picture, read 10 pages, have a 90 min workout (2x45 min), drink, eat...and it's time to go to bed😮. I need time for paperwork, children, cleaning the house. @@FUyoutubemakingmechangemyname That is not as bad as I thought in Liters. But still, that is a lot of water and in most cases it would be too much. In summer sure, if you are larger, active and sweat a lot that would be a smart thing to do. But your body is smarter than you think. If you're struggling that much to drink that amount chances are your body is telling you you don't need it. You really can flush out electrolytes you actually need if you drink too much especially if you make it a daily habit. Andy Frisella has been very clear about what 75Hard is and, more importantly, what it isn't. This pretty much ticks every box in the "what it isn't" column. I can only imagine the rant he'd have if he ever bothered to watch this... 75Hard is very doable when you understand the why. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with physical health, the whole point is that it's meant to be so hard that you want to quit the whole time. It's about building will power and mental toughness. By not taking a daily pic or not completing all 75 days you have failed the entire process no matter how much you worked out or drank the water....
