I had hit a plateau on my playing for the past 3-4 years (self taught, no directed instruction because I couldn't find any that I connected with.) After watching this video 2-3 times I've progressed more in the past 2 hours than I have in the past 2 years. DVD ordered and eagerly awaiting it!

I don't understand how this is a difficult concept, but that could be because I figured this out on my own within the first year of playing. Word of warning to new players learning this style of play: don't let yourself become too reliant on it. Everything you play will sound the exact same.

@abelrussell55565 жыл бұрын
To add some other keys without yanking your capo up to the 10th fret, you can get these open sounds by playing the key of G shapes, but keeping the pinky and ring finger rooted on the 3rd fret on the high E and B strings. This adds the same open suspended sound to your Eminor, C, D, and G, but with different shaped chords than this lesson in E
@crdbrdbox12 жыл бұрын

sir,do you have any videos or pictures of all open chords,thank you sir
@KnowledgeIsKey2158 жыл бұрын
As far as ALL open chords... It's gonna be hard to find every one in one spot, because there are a lot. But if you're looking for the basic open chords you'll want A, Am, Bm, C, D, Dm, E, Em, F, G. You'll want to know your 7 chords as well... A7, Amaj7, Bm7, Cmaj7, D7, Dmaj7, Dm7, E7, Em7, Fmaj7, G7 There a lot more but it's not hard to do 7th chords, especially with 5th and 6th string barre chords. For minor 7 chords it's just a matter of removing one finger (ring finger) and maj7 w/ root on 5th string are made by barring and making an Amaj7 shape.

To get more out of your guitar chords with beautiful sound with their 'proper' names visit Verheyen, you'll never regret it. Though I have used what Paul is teaching, your 'vocabulary' of chords if you will, will greatly expanded. By the way, if you play this style, you must have a good guitar and properly tuned otherwise it will sound flat or out of tune.

watch the rest of his videos. though these specific chord shapes he uses in this video only work for key of E because it uses the open 1st and second string and you cant really do that in any other key. You may need a capo.
