This is called a reed switch motor. Made one many years ago.

Coincidentally, this motor also known as pulse motor.

@@TheArkcantos A pulse motor works with a transistor to switch the circuit on and off.

@@Berghiker Not necessary to be transistor. Just as the name implied "pulse", mean like a beat (take biological object, heart "pulse"). The reed switch here act as the pulse switch. Another way to view is the motor works with "pulsing" (beating) electromagnet.
