I don't know whether I missed it, but you should mention that these charged capacitors could be deadly to people due to the large amount of energy stored in them. Please be careful not to touch the contacts.

@@cia3653 IMHO these videos are appealing to electronics beginners because they are well made and more or less easy to reproduce. And I can imagine that it is not obvious for such a person that a simple capacitor converts a system powered by 7V which is equivalent to an electric cattle fence into a death trap. If the system would be powered by mains voltage I would expect some respect from beginners because possible dangers are more obvious. But that's just my 2 cents.
@imranakhtar44785 жыл бұрын
Capacitors are dangerous due to low internal resistance, not due to energy stored in them. The largest capacitors shown in video may have less energy than any AA size cell but it can discharge all of that stored energy in a very short period.
@tobi_n5 жыл бұрын
@@imranakhtar4478 OK, I apologize for not being 100% accurate. So I summarize: the stored energy by itself is not enough to claim that something is dangerous But a low internal resistance is by itself is neither (c.f. electric fence -> high voltage, low resistance but not really dangerous). The rule is: It's the power that grills you :-) I.e. you need a high voltage and a low internal resistance to generate a high current with the body in series. In addition you need enough stored energy to maintain the current until the dumped amount of power has a damaging effect on the human body. I hope the explanation is complete now.

If you can build a mazzilli flyback driver, have a disassembled flyback core and own high voltage capacitors to charge, theres a pretty good chance you know enough to be safe around a 600v cap

I built this driver circuit many years ago and it is perfect for a jacobs ladder. Nice thick red fiery arcs like you see at power station short circuits. Used it with 2 x 12V car batteries in series. 24V

the idea of the high spark instead of the hub is a great idea. One that doesn't hold the button, but the other estr that is even quieter ... at what explosion it makes, the sound is very strong ... Anyway, your videos helped me a lot to understand some theories ...
@T2D.SteveArcs5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ludic the output from, ZVS is a sign wave so you don't need an air gap in the core you only need a gap if its being driven single ended (flyback) that is where the transistor turns on and the core is magnetised the core stores the energy and only transfers it to the secondary when the transistor turns off in a flyback topology power supply the output rectifier diodes are reverse biased when the transistor is on and forward (conducting) when its off that is why its called a fly back excellent vids thank you keep up the good work Steve

If you remove the gap it changes the inductance of your coils and therefore the frequency this circuit will run on. Just something to consider.

I noticed you connected diodes in series to - I believe - increase reverse voltage. This simple configuration has a drawback: any mismatch of reverse current will cause uneven distribution of reverse voltage which may cause cascading failure. Normally an equalizing resistors are added parallel to diodes.

It would be nice to use a resistive divider and feed a small sample of the output voltage into a comarator so you could make it automatic just set max voltage and use a fet to drive a normally closed relay (that way should the fet fail short it would be stuck switched off) have the relay break the Vcc to the ZVS

I have a big doubt, could make a video about my question, which is: Every receiver is also actually a transmitter, but of lower intensity (power) than the actual transmitter itself ??? Explaining: Whether in the transmitter and the receiver, we know that each one uses its own tank circuit (in inductor and capacitor configuration). So I believe that regardless of the signal, I mean when it comes to the carrier wave, we know that a RECEIVER also uses, in its electronic scheme, the tank circuit (coil and capacitor) to oscillate and thereby suck in resonance. frequency of adjustment by the frequency characteristics of the emitted transmitting wave. And that's where my doubt comes in: I think the RECEIVER should also transmit waves because of the tank circuit, but with low power. Thus there would be the resonance meeting between transmitter and receiver, in which there will already be in the path between the two, as an example, a mechanical system of a balance: Where the person who pushes with his arms (would be the transmitter) and the swing itself (would be the receiver) and both need to be in sync with the commuting, let's say, so that there is resonance and with that there will be signal absorption by the receiver, and then a transistor on the receiver output amplifies so that the power is audible. I hope I could explain it well. I would love to know if this is what happens ??? If you understand me. Grateful I await a return.

I have a question to ask, for 48v, 3Kw DC motor I wanna make a backup capacitors pack, when I switch from one line of electricity to another, in that moment I need capacitance for few seconds,I don’t want to stop motor during switching, for that purpose how many caps, how many capacitors in pack required?
@nigel-matthews4 жыл бұрын
@@maliknaveedislam rather that making a system to fill that couple second gap, I'd focus on making that gap as small as possible. Use a double pole, double throw switch and wire it so that when you move the switch position it immediately shifts to the other power source. Just my thoughts.
