I remember watching the Elegy for the Arctic video over and over again just because the piece is so moving. It never gets old, and me thinking about how Einaudi got me into the piano doesn't get old either. Through his music, you understand that what makes music special is not how many notes you play or how fast you can play, but it's about whether or not you're able to tell a story. Every piece of music has a history. Sure, we can all improvise and come up with melodies, but the most special of pieces don't just come from our hands on the keys. They come from experience. They come from little moments that we likely won't get to relive. Einaudi's music has a unique quality. It goes beyond simple listening. Much like composers write from experience and moments, listening to any of Einaudi's pieces is an experience on. it's own.

Una Elegia in cui il proprio sentire e le note si fondono così come il ghiaccio dell'Artico, trasmettendo l'emozione da esse generate. Cosa che, Maestro, ha suscitato anche in me l' esecuzione di questo sua meravigliosa opera, quando fu registrata in diretta, su di una piattaforma al Polo Artico in mezzo ai ghiacciai... per me fu come un colpo di fulmine, registrai le mie emozioni ascoltando la sua musica... e di cui ne ho fatto un video.
