I don’t understand this analysis because gears says that pga tour players hand speed spikes at the start of the downswing and their hands are actually decelerating as they reach the ball.

@mattpitzer5566 Жыл бұрын
Hand path length does not necessarily equal not coming over the top but a lot of factors that get you to a longer hand path length, such as good structure of not breaking your elbows down early, proper takeaway etc, set you up for swinging on plane.
@johnc5741 Жыл бұрын
hand depth prevent OTT. full turn.
@gabrielslater0505 Жыл бұрын
Hand path in this instance is the length of the arc the hands travel in, it’s got no correlation to coming over the top or not. That’s swing plane

bc rory has worked so much and so hard for his driving. he has built muscles on his body like a boxer, not a golfer. and when u are strong and stable no matter how tall u are u will still be able to drive far. i believe thats why the putting isnt the best attribute of rory, if it was aswell then he would have a lot more majors
@HolyGrailOfGolf9 ай бұрын
Everything is "hard" when you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how to use the tool. Once you understand how to use the tool it becomes easy. Also, the muscles are stretched far more at the beginning of the downswing than they are at the top.

Take a look at the best ball-striker ever - Ben Hogan. Hand path? Not much.
@gabrielslater0505 Жыл бұрын
Ball striking and swing speed are different things. Hogan hit incredibly efficiently at the time because his timing was unbelievable compared to everyone else. Now everybody times it amazingly and yet ludvig still hits longer than most with minimal visual effort. It’s simple physics that the hands path creates speed. The more time you have to accelerate the higher the speed you’ll reach
@outlander2348 ай бұрын
@@gabrielslater0505 But then there is terminal velocity. There is only so much speed anyone can achieve. Just like an object falling out of airplane it will reach terminal velocity and stop accelerating. More path wont equal more speed. Then there is leverage. Longer the shaft the more path you need to accelerate it. There is no reason someone shorter with shorter club cant swing as fast, thats also simple physics.

@brianschultz7320 Жыл бұрын
I’m sure this video will be helpful to some, but for others, I feel like this is misleading in a way. What those pros are doing is coiling and uncoiling. All that power and speed is being generated by rotation. If you bump your hips forward on purpose, all it’s doing is limiting your ability to rotate and uncoil. The going forward phase of your swing should happen naturally. Imo, you should focus on keeping your backswing on plane with the some nice width and loading properly. Min woo Lee and Ludvig Aberg are good examples.
