Why absurd? She's sung and conducted simultaneously many times?This is a beautiful performance, conductorially and vocally.

Mixed feelings about this one -- Hannigan seems very connected to where the pulse is in this music, and it's nice to hear how many of the rhythms in this incredibly difficult piece "swing" under her direction. You really can move your body to Berg's music if the right rhythms are brought out. Hannigan's voice is perfect for Lulu as well. But this is not a first rate orchestra, and at times they struggle a little bit, especially the brass in parts written deliberately out of the practical range for effect. The Ostinato sounds a bit unfocused as to where the principle voice is, and the trumpets can't seem to cut those wide intervallic leaps in the beginning. But this is a very interesting listen as far as hearing Hannigan bringing out rhythms in melodic parts so they sound singable, and the jazz and Gershwin influence in Berg's late music is heard very clearly.

A great performance indeed. It would be cultural and informative to write which orchestra is playing (I suppose the Ludwig Orchestra), as well as where and when the concert was held. Could anyone tell, please?

Exceptionally beautiful and well done but is marred by the insertion of irrelevant advertising at unfortunate and intrusive moments(as if any moment is fine). Did anyone else have to endure this as well or was I singled out for special treatment?
