What a close set! That's a tough MU for Samus but as others have said, Sisqui did incredibly well. GG to both players
@christianmedina41072 жыл бұрын
Sisqui did an entire Samus matchups and he said that Fox was -2 (he did 3 categories: slight disadvantage, disadvantage and big disadvantage) and he almost put Fox on -3, and said that because there are not really more than 2 or 3 top fox players.

Good attempt. I don't think this is losing for samus necessarily. You just have to keep updating your rock paper scissors scenarios. Light is really good at keeping track of your options. Like that dash attack away to get away or cover his coming in options. He realized he could gamble upsmash there pretty safely. So he understands samuses gameplan and makes decisions to make the scenarios in his favor. And in that sense it may be winning for fox because fox can snake into more positions to get kills than samus can. But the fox still needs to be very mindful. And part of samuses gameplan is to make their opponent spend too much energy thinking about their options. I think labbing parry in these losing scenarios might give samus the edge to turn this even. I think you also need to see if you can hard smash di away foxes up airs at low percents to see if you can avoid all that damage. Him dashing under fair when you don't necessarily have shield as an option may be a problem still. Im not certain about that. I think samus has trouble landing and doing a mixup thay hard counters these dashing under fair options. People just aren't willing to trade with samus for some reason there. But light is Edit: well ya I do know an option. It's falling Nair. The problem is that you need to time it for when they come in and if you are wrong you still get hit. Zair doesn't always work. It also goes over other characters head at that angle. Bomb backwards is a bit better for when they come in fast. But it is also a completely different animation and obviously not a fair that also has lag. Charge shot does the best here. But the problem is that opens you up to be reflected. It's not the worst rock paper Scissors if you are already wining and you have a solid read or reflected charge shot won't kill you. Because falling Nair becomes easier to time when they run in and reflect. But it's not satisfyingly comfortable for samus. You could choose to roll in some of the time. Just every once in awhile to reduce the percent chance that you get reflected there. And maybe just tomahawk downtilt sometimes

Sisqui, Quick and Icymist say that this MU is for Fox, even is a big disadvantage (not in Olimar or Min MiN level, but it's a bad matchup) and they are the 3 best Samus in the world. The only reason it's because there are no a lot of Top Fox players and you can't see so many MAtch between this two characters
@ninjaturtletyke33282 жыл бұрын
@@christianmedina4107 im not trying to downplay players who are clearly better than me. But I'm just questioning if light is the only player that can accomplish this at this level then maybe making the challenges fox has fo overcome to make the match-up look like this then maybe it won't be so easy for light in tournament. Lights ability to be mindful and weave into the situations to get these kills is very impressive. And I'm wondering if the samus recognizes how light weaves into those options and instead faints and mixes up there if light would actually be able to keep up with it the entire set. Fox can always win any match-up where his options allow him to weave in on paper. Light historically has gotten lazy with his decision making. Because decision making with fox is really hard. Light is willing to run in under samuses fair and upsmash and run into your face and upsmash because he knows the gamble is in his favor considering the cycle sisqui is taking. This isn't to say fox can't overcome what I'm saying. What I'm saying if samuses play against how light views the match-up and become more annoying you may be able to emotionally drain him

Abuse frame 4 up B, catch fox in the air, edgeguarding, ledge trapping, and have really good air movement while charging neutral B. It's not unwinnable because there are win cons, especially against fox, but yeah fox is like the anti zoning character. You gotta blow him up first or he will def blow you up.

@@orcasmarcos3669 this depends on how you mean desperate. Light was tracking his options and progressively giving answers to snake in and get a kill. Sisqui was running out of safe approaches to secure damage and kills at the end. I think Sisqui very intentionally played more risky because the options were looking more and more even even after sisqui made adjustments I mean I could be wrong obviously. Sisqui knows his mental state better than some random samus who barely plays who is attempting to break down the match-up
