Wyoming you can get a damn nice house for 200k
@T0NI_6 ай бұрын
Yes, Ludwig. 200k is very much so a house, if you don't live in the US with its housing bubble
@RobinNashVideos6 ай бұрын
Hi, so there's some truth to that in the sense that: yes! There are places where you can buy a house for 200k, and ofc, those places are not in the US. Hell, my own childhood home is probably valued at way less than 200k right now, that's true for a lot of us from developing countries. Also, I think there's a very good case to be made that there is a housing bubble going on which is why prices are so outrageous. That being said, it seems a bit pedantic to imply this a US only problem when this bubble is present worldwide, ESPECIALLY in developed countries; among which the US isn't honestly even doing that bad comparatively. Here's a (non exhaustive) list of countries in which the average home price is higher than 200k: - Canada (>700k CAD) - UK (>270k £) - Japan (>270k USD) - Italy (>300k €) - Netherlands (>400k €) - New Zealand (>900k USD) - Australia (>800k USD) - Switzerland (>1.1M CHF, approximately 1.23M USD) The figures vary from source to source, these are just approximations, but I'll leave it up to you to double check if you're doubtful. It also varies a lot by city, the Switzerland figure is almost conservative in some cases, while exaggerated in other. As an example, getting a house in Zurich for less than two million francs is almost unthinkable, but the prices have been way above 7 digits for years now. All this to say that it's hard to make general assumptions about world trends. It's very hard to get a global perspective as a human living only in one part of the world at any given moment. But we can always try! I think it's useful because it helps understand how things we may take for granted may be very different in other places, which is why making blanket statements that simplify global problems can be a bit pointless. Tho I know you meant no harm, just thought I'd share some figures. Have a good one, cheers.
