What an honest a beautiful performance, free of unnecessary theatrics! And Mtro. Every movement his fingers make, every sound he makes, awakens the cells in mind and heart, honouring the great Beethoven's legacy. Wondering how Da Vinci's anatomy drawing would express the pain and joy in Tjeknavorian's face. Not knowing Beethoven's motives behind it, need to go deeper in John Suchet's archives "The man Revealed" in his Classic FM broadcast. Thank you to all musicians for a "shiny felt sparkle" in this Covid stricken times.

I loved the improvisation he takes in the first movement passages; it is bold and also works well, departing from the written score as I had learned it 55 years ago. Truly great Jazz artists have never been afraid to "riff" on a theme a bit (listen to Ella Fitzgerald!), and it is refreshing to hear this in what can sometimes be a stodgy, plodding work, if not handled well. In the Larghetto, the sheer perfection of the simplicity shines like crystal. His Rondo has all the bounce of a polka after a couple of good beers! Bravo

Certainly this is one of the best renditions of this fabulous Concerto in D Mayor, Mr. Tjeknavorian take the instrument to all its most high splendor making each note seems impossible to reach sounds beautifully pure, he knows how to bring the perfect tone out the instrument, even his silence cadences seems to me sublime. His technique is incredible and the handing of his little finger is absolutely spectacular ( congratulations to the technicians in charge of the transmition).I don't know is all of us who had the joice of listening to this beauty think similarly, to me this interpretation is a true masterpiece. The WDR Symphony Orchestra is always impeccable, Chistian Marcelaru is a First-Rate conductor and will conduct in Cincinnati, close to me this following course wich why I'm very excited. Thank you for such beautiful show.

This fellow is GOOD. I do not yet know him otherwise, and as for the piece he's playing, I've heard it only a few times, not really enough to know it in depth, but I think I can say: he does himself AND the piece justice. I, non-violinist but music lover, pronounce complete approval on this performance and all its participants. Congratulations! JAT
