at 34:45 he states that because cost rises faster than revenues you would be at a loss. I am sure he would also state that there would be a loss in demand as well from marginal buys who are now priced out which could lead greater losses if apartments go unfilled causing prices fall and losses to rise also.

Having worked at a high level in public accounting in Germany this reminds me of a KPMG tax partner asking an English colleague and I to translate his client letter into English. My colleague Karl (an Englishman with a German first name) when asked what is taking so long looked up and replied "zur Zeit speilen wir suche den Punkt" or " at the moment we are playing find the period." Educated Germans love to write with multiple embedded "sub sentences" to show how intellectual they are. In English we are taught: one idea, one sentence. Not so in German!

Did Mises solve the infinite regression critique in human action (basically addressing what he knew critics would have said) or did he come out with his theory on the value of money, then published it, and only after he received the "infinite regress" criticism did he come up with the answer of it regressing back to barter?
@michaelgoudis3446 жыл бұрын
He foresaw the criticism and a solved the whole thing in his book "The theory of money and credit"

Human action came much later, he first formalized the money regression nearly 2 decades earlier in the theory of money and credit

@@lights473 Then you’re bet is horribly wrong. I generally don’t like heterodox economists, regardless of their political ideology. The greatest economists are Kenneth Arrow, Leon Walras, Alfred Marshall, and Irving Fisher. You could throw Adam Smith in there as well. However Mises is a loser and there’s a reason nobody in economics actually cares about anything he wrote.

Poor has no choice. Only who are rich can choose. Demand is thus a meaningless concept for the poor. Requirement is the more realistic concept as it was in the Soviet Union. Socialism is realistic policy package for the poor. Only those who are not poor are against socialism.

what a wasted lecture.......full of slangs, inaccuracies, awful examples that cannot stand on proving anything.........feel sad for the students sitting there. Maybe they love being talked about against socialism, although the other two topics were horribly explained of the critiques of Mises.
