No matter how good the English voice actor may be, they will never compare to the original because our language can't capture all of those linguistic nuances. I get that some people have a hard time with following subtitles, but they are missing out on a lot of the humor and emotion anime brings to its audience.

The idea is good, but the studio failed miserably in filming the scenes in a good way... The way of drawing is too cartoonish, and in some shots it was difficult to distinguish what was going on. I think that if One Piece had been owned by a superior studio, this transformation would have been as well-received by viewers as it is now.

I was struggling bad with addiction to substances and even though I had a great job making good money in a new city I started spiraling out of control. I isolated and refused to meet any people there because I would just go to work go home and do drugs. I was on the verge of death and it was then when I started watching one piece and it was my one solace which kept me from ending myself. That was a long time ago and I’ve been off the substances for many years now but I’ll never forget that one piece was my saving grace that gave me a glimmer of hope and joy in my life. This is 100% true by the way and haven’t really spoke about it in public before and my love for one piece has evolved tremendously. Not only does it remind me of what it helped me go through but it’s just an incredibly amazing story and touches my heart. Nothing I watch brings me to tears like one piece does because it just pulls on my heart strings in such a profound way

Could it be that being near to dying is a requirment for the Nika-Fruit to actually awaken? Because if Nika is considered a "Freedom-Warrior" it could kinda fit as dying frees you from your physical existence and which is also why the Nika-Fruit wasn´t awaken for a long time because either it wasn´t eaten by anyone or each holder died instantly unlike Luffy who was about to die.
