If zoro isn't in the crew, they'll lack power to beat multiple enemies, that's why they're literally considered the monster trio of the crew because, the captain, the cook, and the 2nd powerhouse "vice captain" are powerful asf.

I absolutely love the flashbacks we get right before Luffy lands the red roc because it's all from his perspective. Throughout the entire saga (and the series) he's been very happy go-lucky but these flashbacks really show us how emotionally effected hes been by all the events he's been a part of: visiting Oden's grave, finding the road poneglyph and hearing the situation from Kinemon, the intense loyalty the minks displayed during the Raizo is safe moment, the tragedy Pedro faced all so that the Straw Hats could move forward and reunite with Sanji and go to Wano, watching Yasuie get executed while the town that loved him could only laugh, and seeing Momo finally reach his breaking point in Udon and declare that rebellion has been reborn. Each moment effected Luffy deeply, and only increased his determination to utterly destroy Kaido and Big Mom. All that rage and determination represented in this opening punch. Just brillant.

I thought the title was mispelled, but in mythology, the Roc is a giant bird that is able to lift elephants with it's talons. It's a crazy jump from Hawk to Roc, but I think it's cool that they did this.

What I loved about this scene is Law just did exactly what Luffy asked Law. No complaint, no talk back just waiting for it and did it. Also the sudden hint for both Luffy and Zoro having advance observation Haki way over Law and Kidd is a nice subtle touch, especially that Luffy's is shown to be more advance than Zoro's.

I think the most beautiful thing about this scene is one thats overlooked, or rather, not articulated. Before the epic "Red Roc" reveal, the flashback brings us to the climax in an interesting way: Shifting our view from third person, to Luffy's first person. Combined with the color contrast, and the parallax effect, we're taken from high stakes emotion as a viewer, to actually feeling how important this is for Luffy. It makes it all the more satisfying when the slow motion shot of Red Roc in all its glory pauses, before hitting Kaido and putting off all the power of a small scale tactical nuke. This scene was gorgeous in the manga, but after looking back to compare, this one of the few times the anime properly outshines its source material. Bravo Toei. I'm not a fan of how you adapt this story, but this time....you got it perfect

Commenting from Japan. This scene was very nice and I was looking forward to it for a long time. Let me share a few personal memories. I started reading One Piece from the Impel Down arc in Weekly Shonen Jump, but before the story two years later came out, Jump went on a one-month hiatus. I was in despair, thinking, "Oh, I've lost the meaning of living for a month." But there was nothing I could do, so I started imagining a scene like this in One Piece in the future. The scene I wanted to see the most, the scene I was looking forward to the most, is the scene in the final chapter where the strongest and worst enemy appears and throws the allied camp into chaos and becomes uncontrollable. That's where Luffy appears. The enemy says, "Boy, do you think you can defeat me?" The enemy attacks Luffy, but Luffy dodges it gracefully and delivers a powerful punch to the enemy's face. The enemy is stunned by the unexpected damage. And Luffy declares, "I'm Monkey D. Luffy. I'm the man who will become the Pirate King!!" I thought this was the best when I was 16 years old. And 12 years later, my imagination became reality. Thank you, Oda-sensei. You're a genius! There are many things that Oda-sensei is amazing about, but I think this is the most amazing thing. I think the reason One Piece continues to be popular is because he understands the hearts of boys.

Truly one of the moments that no other anime can usually deliver. Even surpassing it's own source material. This is now the 4th time this arc i've had to stop and say i have a new favorite scene. Toei just keeps upping the ante every episode, and after seeing the last few manga chapters, the future is bright. They finally have earned my respect back after the terrible pacing of whole cake. wano is here the perfect amount of pacing with Oda's writing and even though its the longest arc it certainly has been nothing but enjoyable to watch!

So I started one piece about 8 months ago I’m all caught up took me 6 months to get with everything. I’ve seen many shows in my lifetime. Never. Never have I ever been through a emotional rollercoaster quite like this. All 1014 episodes that led to this moment was 100% worth it. Red Roc basically represents so many things. One of which is a payoff to Ace's punch to Kaidou's dragon statue. They are fire fists and both punch on the left cheek. Truly a masterpiece in a single chapter, and I'm glad this episode did it justice.

You can tell at 1:56 Big Mom is really surprised because she has never seen anyone being able to hurt Kaido let alone knock him down to the ground. She is also surprised that Luffy was the to knock down Kaido, because when she saw him at the tea party and he wasn’t able to hurt her and when he said he was going to defeat Kaido she laughed at the idea of Luffy beating him. But after seeing Luffy knock him down she is both in shock and disbelief that Luffy is now capable of defeating Kaido now. And after she asks Kaido what is he doing and says that she can’t believe he got knocked down and Luffy lands on the ground and he says his name and saying he will defeat them and saying he will be king of the pirates you can see the fear in her face that Luffy is now strong enough to defeat both her and Kaido. And that smile from Zoro is the best part because he is proud of his captain getting stronger and getting the power he needs to defeat an emperor

you don't think iron club alvida was foreshadowing to Kaido and his kanabo, do you? At the very least maybe Oda used Alvida as a reference point for Kaido's design. Alvida was feared by her whole crew which was all of like 20 nobodies at the time, knocking people away with the sheer force of her weapon. Nobody could believe it when luffy took a hit then beat her ass, Kaido is feared by everybody on the ocean and Luffy gets back up and pushes a bit further with his astounding potential every time. Luffy's evolved his abilities to such an extent it's hard to believe we're looking at the same guy whopping baddies with a simple gum-gum pistol.

Then the whole Upon prison with Hyogoro stating the flames of rebellion never died out. Then simultaneously showing aspects of the war currently happening in the castle of Onigashima itself with Luffy's quotes " why can't an outsider save Wano!?" " No one deserves to be laughed at as they die" "you're the leader right? What do you want to do" and all of that being brought to a close with Luffy laying down the cleanest fucking hit on Kaido. I ain't afraid to say this but I was sobbing throughout all of it. That entire scene was fucking powerful.
