Cam360Gamer Very late reply however super sonic cannot be damaged only pushed back, he has never been damaged by a ordinary enemy and in the games he’s never been beaten, the only way super sonic could be beaten is to wait until he runs out of time however sonic is already fast so his super form just makes him stronger. If super sonic isn’t enough hyper sonic will do the trick if you counting that form in this debate. On the other hand the fact that luffy is apart of a shonen anime and this gives him an advantage because he can always improve, get stronger and most likely has way more fighting technique and since he’s basically elastic it would be kinda hard for base sonic to damage him, he also has his different gear changes. I don’t watch one piece so I’m just going of my severe lack of knowledge on the show so my argument is possibly null and void.

While the whole water thing was a clever and funny way to resolve this fight, (except the way luffy fell was just plain unrealistic and dumb looking, who bounces off rocks like that?), Luffy would win. The only advantage sonic would have would be a small edge in speed as theres no way sonic could match him in strength or tactics since luffy has proven himself to be a battlefield genius. No to mention luffys HEAVY resistance to blunt attacks, meaning sonics only moves that he could possibly even hope to inflict winning damage with, is his spin attack, sonic wind, and super sonic. Two of which arent his fastest moves and one has a very strict time limit. Sonic might be able to pull it out with super sonic, but luffy has shown to be able take MASSIVE punishment, even from attacks that abuse his weakness to internal damage, and still get up to deliver the finishing blow. That being said, amazing choregraphy and sprite work on the artists behalf.

I'm glad that this is finally up after years! 1. Sonic CAN swim, as seen in Smash bros. and the Olympics, but those are simple game mechanics. 2. You are greatly underestimating Sonic's reflexes. Sure, Sonic is faster in all ways, but remember, Sonic has fought the likes of Shadow, who is equally fast. It has been flat out stated by other characters that Sonic easily surpasses light in speed, so naturally his reflexes will follow. The Media Sonic is also seen here as he transforms into a dark state, which is exclusive to X. The most I have seen him take is getting blasted through several buildings DBZ style and getting wailed in the face by Knuckles (strongest character you should note). The enemies are also gameplay mechanics, but I would also like to note that in Sonic Heroes enemies did have durability (also in Sonic 06). A little Archie Comics Sonic is also seen here. To be plain with this, Archie Sonic would destroy Luffy is seconds. Archie Sonic was only knocked out by a machine that destroyed and created several universes at point blank. ACS also has an infinite speed feat, so Luffy wont even touch him. He can rewrite reality as Super Sonic, and has beated an enemy who is leagues stronger than a guy who crushed millions of universes/multiverses (never clear which one) with his bare hands. Also note that Shadow in his base form fought the guy for a while before tiring out, and remember Sonic is just as strong as Shadow which means he can fight a guy who can rewrite the entire comics (his name is Enerjak, and he said he could literally do anything. And then he proceeded to teleport himself and Knuckles into the ocean and back out and *disintegrate Knuckles atom by atom until Knuckles died.*) Sorry the King of the Pirates is gonna have to wait until he can take on the Blue Blur. (And I didnt even incorporate any transformations stronger than Super Sonic lol.)

The whole point of the fight was to make it a tie, also, I see what you mean by "speed means epic reflexes" believe me, I know, but being both a fan (and watcher) of both Luffy and Sonic, Luffy possesses (but has not mastered) Kenbunshoku Haki, one of the three types of Haki. This means he can predict his enemies movements both in offense and defense and react to them (Luffy has AMAZING reflexes by the way) and also, physical attacks won't wont on Luffy because hes made of rubber, both internally and externally. But regardless, Sonic is extremely powerful in his own ways, but this matchup is fair because their abilities and physical feats counter each other respectively and I commend the author and you, for making such a solid argument.

UltimatumGamingHD Well of course, I only use cannon information in my debates or comments. Sonic did use Super Sonic in this fight, so he could use Chaos Control to hurt him that way. Sonic could cut off the oxygen around Luffy and choke him like he did to Blaze in their first fight. Sonic is also able to cause massive amounts of heat from his body via vibration of his atoms and overheat Luffy (I haven't seen too much One Piece, so I don't know if Luffy is vulnerable to those things.) Sonic is also known to attack with brute force like some One Piece enemies. In a comic he once got *pissed* at Eggman and ran a distance of about 2000 miles (from Texas to New York) and run back and dent Eggman's invincible alloy all done in less than a second. A dent may not sound so significant, but this alloy was the strongest ever created (even though Super Sonic snapped it apart like a toy later on.) Hope that helps a bit, I can research a bit more on alternative ways of attack, but that was what I could collect off of the top of my mind.
