Lufia 1 is a great underrated SNES RPG. The game is a fun classic turn based RPG and the music in it is quite surprisingly good. The art style as you mentioned is nice in the game too the game has a good art style. Lufia 2 is really good as well a classic SNES RPG.

Of all the games I played growing up (currently 41) this game had the most epic opening. This is the first game I ever played that had such serious stakes and gave you control of established heroes. I always felt like I was there when my hero, Aguro, Lucia, and Jerin were as powerful as Maxim, Guy, Selan, and Arty.

Yo, came from your post on Reddit. Was not expecting Robert Kendo to greet me at the beginning, but I'm not upset, haha. This was a pretty good and fair analysis of the game. It is a bit dated but it's very charming and very worth a playthrough. I love this game to pieces.

Hahaha, I always love when people recognize Kendo! And thank you coming over, watching and the comment. This is definitely one that I’ll always remember. Very fun game. I still think, in general, the dialogue was very memorable and my lasting impression of the game.

@@Bitsandglory Yeah, the dialogue and character work was nice. The group stands out. Also, if you haven't played it yet, Lufia II is a treat. I prefer the first one but 2 is fantastic, definitely an underappreciated gem.

Very good review. Lufia - Rise of the Sinistrals is my nr.1 but this one is more to get used to the gameplay. I love them both.

I beat Lufia over covid, and it got to be a slog for me for most of the reasons you mentioned. I also collected the Dragon Eggs 3 times for the items. I'm currently running Lufia 2 and though it's better, it does have a very repetitive sort of episodic plot of "Get to town, do dungeon, get to new town, do new dungeon", but each dungeon is very puzzle driven, and you can see and avoid encounters in the dungeons, so it's clear they listened to the feedback.

Yup! That’s one of my minor gripes with Lufia 2 as well (covered that in my review). But ultimately Lufia 2 was just so much fun for me. I still did like the first, but the slog is real as you have experienced yourself! Thanks for watching and the comment
