No, its an effect caused through the highly compressed air. Fuel dumping in that height isn`t allowed and absolutly dangerous

@carofdeath no it's not. It's rather one of the best feelings that you will experience in your life! when you see the ground getting smaller and smaller, you feel like a bird climbing up to the clouds ;) Look forward to it! ;)

Not all flights have applause on landings. The Silkair flights from Singapore to Davao are quiet. No applause.
