I am glad to see that others appreciate Luigi. For me, they are tied. The main reason Luigi is hated is because of his fears. His kind heart makes him more vulnerable to fear. However, if he gets truly serious, get set to get rekt. Mario probably has more overall power and expertise than Luigi, but Luigi has untold power stored in him. Another thing is that people, because of the Smash Bros games, consider Luigi to be more just a clone of Mario. However, their abilities greatly differ, especially since Luigi's main ability is not fire, but in fact lightning. Lightning is harder to stop than fire.
