It'd make more sense for Luigi to be faster since he has longer legs, is lighter and would cover more distance per step - but I chalk it up to Luigi being more indecisive than Mario and more reserved about charging forward all determined and ready to go. I see mario as the most consistent character in smash and Luigi is the most inconsistent. There are a lot of differences between Mario and Luigi like their color schemes, their down tilts have different speeds, animations, their dash attacks are different too, all their smash attacks, side specials, and air attack, their final smashes aren't identical and neither are their grab attacks. Their body weight and height is different, their fireballs are different hits, and colors. Mario has no fears and Luigi has a fear of ghosts.

I completely understand and agree with this. Mario is one of my favorites and one of my mainstays, along with Ike, Cloud Strife, Ryu, and Solid Snake. (Especially Snake). Luigi keeps pissing me off. He keeps cheaply K.O'ing me with either his Fire Jump Punch, or the Overzealous Green Missile, one usually after the other! He basically has THREE recoveries, 3! The Fire Jump Punch, the Luigi Cyclone, and the Green Missile! He's much cheaper to play as. Seriously, no matter the difficulty, Luigi will sometimes run straight up to you, and INSTANTLY KO you with his Super Jump Punch! Even AFTER you literally JUST recovered from being KO'ed! I hate Luigi so much, I literally am beating him up with EVERY other character, in 2 on 1 handicap matches, as we speak. Even using Luigi's own Fire Jump Punch against him and down taunting him off ledges, and basically doing everything he's been doing to me, but better! Luigi sucks. He's like DSP, cheap and annoying.

Mario is chosen the number 1 for a reason (by the creators) and the original representative for the games and I honestly don't know how you managed to think that Mario is a half-clone from Luigi :/ id say that their moves are different and have similar ones because they're damn brothers.

Remember that Luigi used to have a high pitched mario voice in Melee and 64 and Luigi actually has a glitch you can do using his up b
