Have an ad blocker on. An annoying and inappropriate film trailer interrupted this performance for me. Now for the more important part of the reason for commenting. One Xmas I was on Giudecca (where Nono lived), I heard the sound of the morning bells ringing across the city carried on the air. The ringing of the church bells on such an important festival must have been an aural starting point. For those of you unfamiliar with the piece , there is a pretty useful entry on Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/..._sofferte_onde_serene_...

Well, don't think that this is music for superior minds. Nono, like many authors of that (and this) period, is to be studied before being understood.

If you are intrigued by this, you're already halfway. A possibility may be listening to Schoenberg and Webern first, and then trying Stockhausen and Nono again.

what do you mean by "understand "?

Most of the work is for piano solo, not much tape... not that the tape would make it any better.
