Realistically? If he had nothing else to sustain himself, eventually he'd stop laying them because his body wouldn't have the nutrients required to keep producing them and that system would shut down to conserve energy and keep him alive, so he'd need some other form of food and water. Plus, if Bowser wanted to starve Yoshi to death he could just keep him from eating them.

I just noticed that Yoshi is in every "progression shot" from 2:25 to 2:40, except when Luigi is running after ghosts, because Yoshi couldn't enter haunted houses in Super Mario World. Now that's attention to detail right here.

Some details I love: 3:57 The floor has the same pattern as the one you can see in the movie "The Shining". You know, the one where a familly father is going crazy? So it's for sure an easter egg and an emphasize on how luigi became crazy. 4:23 Mario saying 2 years...
