The first game was darker, lacked a scare scraper, didn't have as many ghosts let alone ghosts with themes or fancy patterns, didn't have any multiplayer modes, had no fancy methods of catching ghosts (strobe bulb, slam attack, plunger, etc.), the ghosts really didn't talk to Luigi with the exception of certain boss fights and from being scanned with the Gameboo Horror, Luigi didn't make buddies with the ghosts, and it was much harder (the hidden mansion in the PAL version for one example). I think the newer games are aimed more towards younger audiences and more inexperienced players while the original is a lot tougher and meant for more retro fans, but again, that's just my opinion. The first game will always be my personal favorite, but that's also because I grew up with it. I'm pretty sure young gamers will adore this title as their first game in the series, though I'm still going to get the game since the cuter, more colorful themes are a nice change to the franchise. But again, the ghosts are always going to be there. Nothing has changed. 😂

I know Luigi's Mansion isn't supposed to be scary or anything,but I'll still only play this at night. Luigi's Mansion just always had that special atmosphere that is,while not scary,still a very unique experience. The point is that it's so weird to see these characters from the Mario universe (but mostly Luigi) actually fear for their lives in situations that are not dark enough to ruin the acessibility,but also just dark enough to shine an all-new light on the otherwise so light-hearted Mario Universe. The Toy Room from LM Dark Moon still gives me the creeps.

There's alot of environments in the game that looks way too bright, almost daylight looking, it kind of takes away the feel of going inside a haunted hotel. Granted I don't think it has to be near pitch black dark like the original Luigi's Mansion, but at the same time, I really don't think the enviroments should look so bright looking like it does right now.

@@drphilisagod2707 I don't buy that argument honestly since a floor in the game won't last for only 10 minutes like a mission would in Dark Moon, nor will a floor kick you out of the hotel like a mission would, nor are you being told to do a specific tasks to complete a floor like collecting spider webs, beating certain number of ghosts, catching pulterpup etc. Not to mention from what I heard from a Nintendo staff at E3, you can actually go back to previous floors that you've beaten to keep finding secrets & I also heard that are are certain floors in the game that contains secret routes that leads you to different floors. I don't know if that last part is true or not, but it's possible.

The ... just symbolizes that Dark Moon wasn't that kind of game. It's good, maybe even great but it's definitely not a masterpiece. LM3 though, as I mentioned before, has a huge potential. They left out multiple mansions and missions, which kinda ruined Dark Moon (a bit harsh I know but I can't find a better word to describe it), but they kept in strobulb and dark light. It's just perfect.

And Darkmoon offered much more than the strobulb and darklight it gave the base ghost personality gave muitple different interesting location that used the environment for puzzles it had better puzzles than the original, when finding secrets it actually required more expiration than the original made king boo creeper,. Had a better risk and award combat, had money go for something other than a ending, gave Luigi more personality, gave everything better animation to convey more personality, and out side of the bosses ghost look where actually more creative and diverse than the originals four bosses. Darkmoon added alot of stuff that improved on things in the original and that is what I am glad they are adding back while still adding the greatness of the original cause even though others don't see Darkmoon on the level of the original but it did make alot of improvements and fixing some of the originals mistakes.

its because they already show alot they show like 7 floors of the 17 they show 8 portrait ghosts of the probably 24 we need to watch the new thing by playing the game

0:37 Look closely and you can see that the pirate shark is wearing an eyepatch on its left eye. And when it possesses(?) the ship, the wood actually forms the eyepatch. That shows how much detail is going into this game.
