You say it should be on the switch, I think we still have a chance. They will probably announce GameCube support for Switch at a later date (E3 perhaps). Announcing it at the same time as 3ds version would kind of give that away. So maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised.

Lionel Hdez it’s not a bad game at all. It benefited a lot on the 3DS by providing sub-menu access with the bottom screen. So much bitching about a game that is actually good and being knit-picked in this video. My only complaint about Dark Moon is near the end of the game...the timed challenge having to hit certain rooms and clear them to progress. Comparing the GC console to a small handheld sequel just isn’t apples to apples.

It's not bad but it's the opposite of the feel of the original. The original was spooky and the atmosphere was great also you get a sense of exploration, where as in dark moon your forced on a set path and you have to do missions. plus for THE ENTIRE Game you fight the exact same ghost. Sure the same goes for the original but they changed it up throughout the game like with the elements.

It's a great game. What it isn't, is a great *Luigi's Mansion* game. Imagine if mario was turned into a first person shooter, some people would actually like it. Every game has fans. Sure it could be a good game, but it wouldn't be a good mario game.

It's neither nostalgia glasses or saltiness(in my case at least.). The original and Dark Moon are both great games, what I meant when I said it wasn't a "great *Luigi's Mansion* game", was that it was almost stripping away everything from the original and turned it into a comedic, bland on the go game that's portable friendly with missions. And the art style was like that due to low poly count I believe. A ton of the issues with this game is due to it being on the 3ds, the sooner people realize that is the sooner they see Luigi's Mansion 3 has potential. But, Dark Moon is in fact *not* a good Luigi's Mansion game, it's a good game, but it didn't stay true to the original one bit. And due to that, lost a lot of the fans who played the original. Love this game all you want, it's a great game. It's mechanics brought something new to the table and Luigi's personality really shines in Dark Moon more than the original. But I'll still be waiting for the day we get a remake in HD for switch, I don't want a Luigi's Mansion 4. Especially if Next Level Games was to take charge of it (creators of dark moon and three.)

The 3ds remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask never stopped the original games from coming to the Wiiu virtual console. Im betting well see Luigi’s mansion on the switch eshop with potential upscaling

You also need to consider the fact that both OoT and MM were originally N64 games so a remake for the 3DS makes sense whereas Luigi’s Mansion is a little more demanding than both games mentioned so remaking it for the 3DS holds it back a bit. An HD remake or even remaster would do it more justice

Booting the original gameup on Dolphin and 1080p and it's still great looks great. The dynamic shadow and particle effects were ages ahead of their time.

BOSS ROSS I'm going to rock out Luigi's Mansion on my 480p GameCube compatible Wii using Nintendont. Even when playing with the restrictions of actual* hardware it still looks great. The shadows are crisp and smooth, and the lighting is just spot on for a GAMECUBE LAUNCH TITLE. *Wii has similar hardware to GameCube, it disables the newer parts of the hardware and downclocks its hardware to GameCube specs

Reasons Dark Moon is a good game: 1) Interesting cartoon art style that fits in the Mario world despite it being a different genre 2) Good gameplay mechanics that make capturing Ghost satisfying 3) Varied mansions that worked with the mission structure

well the sushi striker game was announced at e3 but it was only the 3ds version and then the switch version was announced at the Nintendo direct and they did say this year (for Luigi's mansion)so no date in specifics so maybe they might make a switch version but i'm noting counting on it. it's a shame really

One: the engine of Dark Moon is already done. Compared to a HD version for the Switch it is dirt cheap. Money. Two: You have a 3DS so you can play the game anyway, its not as if you struggle economically and this was released on a console you dont have. Three: i love you Josh, and I can understand your point, but at this point it is just ridiculous. I feel line you are overreacting quite a bit.

You can also play the Switch anywhere, and even a simple remaster of Luigi's Mansion works on it, which the 3DS just can't handle, it needs to have frame dips and a low resolution.

Dammit the jumpscare got me xD I personally like both the original and Dark Moon, I think Dark Moon’s more silly feel has its own charm, but I can understand why it’s not everybody’s thing (and I can’t argue with the fact the original is better) The graphics are what kill me the most, like you said the 3DS remake just looks bad, and it’d look so much better on the Switch ;; I love the 3DS and I’ll be sad when it does eventually die, but man if there’s any game that should have been on Switch instead it’s Luigi’s Mansion

Ok before I start this off I do have to say you did bring you some good points on dark moon and the 3ds remake. But this is why I'm not giving it a like or dislike... Ok so I'm very very very nostalgic to the original Luigi's Mansion on GameCube I come back to that game all the time and I was actually very excited to see it remade/remastered on the 3ds yeah sure it might not be on the switch but it still is fine with me. I also feel like you should of brought up that one of the reasons was because they already had the engine with dark moon. I could honestly care less if anybody reads this or not but I just needed to do that.

Well the biggest thing about the install base is actually had it's best December and Janurary had it's best sales in 3-4 years. As there is still a growing base I can under stand porting switch games that they can get working on 3ds hardware. They've already done it with fire emblem warriors and they're doing it with captain toad. Why couldn't they've done it with this? idk...

Before i say anything, I want to preface that I'd love Luigis Mansion on the Switch, but I feel we should be happy getting it either way. I feel that without Dark Moon, we wouldn't be receiving a remake of any sorts. Since the engine already exists for the 3DS, it takes up way less resources than it would be for making it from the ground up. This makes it more valuable to have on the 3ds because you might get a better net profit, not saying it wouldn' be selling like hotcakes on the Switch mind you. On to the developers reasoning, they stated they wanted it on the 3DS so those who played Dark Moon would have a chance to play the original. This does hold some merit at least to me because my first experience was with Dark Moon and I thought it was Ok, but I always wanted to play the original Luigis Mansion because I always heard so many good things about it. I don't have a GameCube or original Wii, so I never had a chance to experience it before. I'm really excited to delve into the game when it releases and see for myself how great it is. And as for the graphics, they're always last priority for Nintendo. We know it' coming out this year, but if I had to guess I'd say a Late Summer to Fall release. Let' not forget how bad Xenoblade 2 looked when it was first revealed, but looked so much better when it finally released in less than a year. Should Luigis Mansion be on Switch? It's be nice to have it on there, but I'm just happy I have the chance to play one of Nintendo's most beloved Masterpieces.

But why should I be happy that I'm getting an uglier Luigi's mansion port on 3DS that controls worse and has a bad framerate when I already own the superior Gamecube game?... And as for resources / budget why do we as fans need to care about that? We're happy that Nintendo is being cheap & lazy? Just play the GCN version if you didn't play the original. Playing the 3DS version is just settling for a lesser game for more money (GCN game is like $20 on ebay).

Josh, allows me to retort this video. I did see the whole thing and do agree that a switch port would have been cool. Luigis mansion is my second favorite game of all time and I'm not mad one bit about this port to the 3ds. First let me address something you did not in the video. The 3ds already has a Luigi's mansion engine. Sure the controls are not the best in the world but it exists. From a business perspective it makes sense to just use a already created engine to make a game that is the same. Also Luigi's mansion is a pretty short game as well. Making a new engine, new models, assess etc. For a game that is pretty short is not a great use of money. Even if they just add a boss rush it's still a pretty short game. The switch is a great system but it may get it's own Luigi's mansion game in the future give it some time. Also this is just the first trailer, things usually do change between the first trailer and final release. I'm sure the frame rate and lighting will be fixed. The game may not be the switch remake everyone wanted but the 3ds is still a great system that I love and am happy it's still getting support. Josh you let your bias for this game get to the best of you. You need to look at it from every viewpoint possible and see why it was made/ why it is this way. Hope you see what I'm saying here and maybe it cools off some of your anger over the game.

As I've said with everyone, not everyone has a switch. Many have a 3ds. I can't complain, cause I was very excited about LM on DS. It's disappointing that it's not on the switch sure, but I wish people would stop whining about games coming out on the ds.

Plus everyone realizes that it's in early development right, I mean Nintendo Beyond I really like your channel man, but you gotta think of this stuff man. Who knows... maybe it didn't get announced is because it will be joining the switch platform as a Virtual Console addition with Gamecube games and held off until that time.... I still think that we get a VC streaming service with the Online price but maybe I'm wrong about that.
