I'm 100% with you on the Nova I cant find any shot with it at all for my game. I just got the Hustle USA Today so I had something weaker. But I think the Reality Check is my next Purchase.

I agree as well. I've tried multiple surfaces on my Nova but can't find anything that works for me or even looks good. I love the look of the reality check and might get rid of the Nova for one.

Great video as always Luis, keep up the great work man. I have the Nova and I can play pretty far left with mine,at least on house . My first tournament is on September 25 so we will see how it preforms. I'm want the reality check ✔️ to go with my Altered Reality I'm still throwing it lol. Haven't made the leap to get it yet , the prices went up at the pro shop I go to. If I could drill my own stuff I would by on line .

I know that I’m asking for the moon on a stick but here goes. Looking for a ball recommendation to help with the following; started league on Thursday. The backends were hooking. Original Rubicon was leaving 10pins as I had to move inside more than normal but had success with the UC2 and the original Wolverine. The issue was if I missed a tad bit slow, it was split city. All balls drilled 4 1/2” from PAP with a 30* VAL. Any ball suggestions/different drillings that would give me a bit of miss room while I get back into the swing of things appreciated

Great vid again. I need a new #1 ball for my arsenal. I throw a pinch faster then you w @ the same rev and I prefer the straigthter lines to the pocket. Alert/Phaze 2 my strongest at the moment. I really like the look of the Super nova (and the nova). Using your crystal ball which might be the better choice for me, Super Nova or Gem (or nova)

Come to think of it, it would have been a good idea to have an X-1 alongside that X-3. Seeing as they're both hybrids of the same formula, but the composition is different making their reactions a little bit different from one another. Or maybe that's going too far down the rabbit hole...sometimes too much information can be a negative thing

Luis, I find myself getting higher score with symmetrical balls. What is it about asymmetrical cores that make them more over/under? Are they more sensitive to wet/dry transitions, hand positions, timing, and/or speed?

Asim balls seem to always be more tumbly and less rolling like a symmetrical balls. Sometimes they can be so strong they won't hook because of how to core rolls causing over under. Main reason why Belmo has created all Sim balls and no Asims because sims usually fit a two hander better because of a more smooth and less aggressive reaction

So it’s interesting you see asyms as more over/under. I think Luis makes the point well not to get too hung up on solid v pearl v hybrid… Knowing what your layout is going to be…especially with asyms… And knowing a bit about the asyms engine (The lower the RG…the easier it tends to get into a roll…the higher differential the greater potential for hook). The Nova and Power Torq Pearl have the same RG and are separated by differential by .002. The Nova is drilled with the Pin, MB, and CG all right of my ring finger-fairy aggressive . Power Torq Pearl less aggressive …pin under ring finger (4x4x4). On fresh…Nova is a beast…Power Torq Pearl has a hard time finishing. In carry down…Nova sometimes has problems with the cliff…feast in the oil…famine when it hits the dry. Power Torq Pearl has no issues navigating wet/dry. As Luis said…balls are just tools. Just dive in enough to find what is going to work and fit your game best.

@@steveg7018 I wonder with my novice-intermediate physical game, mistakes get punished more with an asymmetric ball. However, when my physical game is on point, the extra torque from the asymmetric core let's me play with larger angles and with higher speeds.

Is there a site where if you plug in your stats, like pap, axis tilt, ball speed etc, that will give a recommended layout for your specific style. We don't in my area have pro shop operators that are that knowledgeable. I'm in the process of figuring the layouts I have on my existing equipment and possibly ordering a ball to layout myself. Just a thought to help you get close in your lay out choice. Storm has videos of new releases showing 4 or 5 different lay outs. Might find the person in the video who is closest to your style of bowling and consider that type of lay out. Lay out is important but remember the coverstock is a larger factor in determining ball motion. Another option is using something close to your current layout (once you figure it out) on the ball that works best for you.

Hybrids can really be hit or miss depending on what you want. You can buy 5 of the same balls but each one can be different. You could get one that reacts purely like a pearl, another could have a very strong/early solid reaction, and you could get the desired in-between. I think it's best to look at the exact ball you're purchasing when it comes to Hybrids. So you can look through your track area and see if it's what you want

I find it interesting that a hybrid cover has a asym core as the two fight against each other. A sym core in a hybrid cover seems a much better match.

The mica (pearl) additive has so little effect to ball motion and hook potential that it is really not fighting anything. I have talked with guys that used to design balls or worked for manufacturers and it is all marketing.

It’s funny he says focus on what the ball actually does not what’s it’s supposed to do I’m new to bowling but I gave up and trying to figure out what does what and why. I have one ball it’s the venom coral blue and just throw the damn thing watch what it does and adjust from there. My league teammate has 6 or 7 balls and and uses all of them every week because he thinks the ball is supposed to do something but it’s not working lol.

I recently got the storm absolute and i just slowly stops hooking i have to throw my ball speed lower then usual my iq ruby is waaay earlier then my absolute but if it hits dry spots that my iq makes it starts to work a little better but still able to use iq still i dont know much about hybrids but is this normal on fresh house shot.

The X3 and RC have different layouts than the Nova. The Nova has the MB almost in the thumb and the other two are about 2in off your thumb.
