I remember watching this game in a bar. I was about 27, and there were all Lakers fans in there. There was a guy who had $500 on the Lakers to win. When Bird shot that last shot, the dude fainted and passed out on the floor. I don't know if he was drunk, or the pressure made him faint. LOL. Great game and reaction!!

I just finished the Larry/Magic book "When the game was ours" it was really good. Since I have watched so many Bird games when they were deep in describing plays I could remember the plays they were talking about and visualize it as I was listening.

Bird had that full court assist with this left hand at 3:15. That is a amazing pass that no one can do today

That should have been Birds moment. I don't know if Mchale just botched a routine rebound or if he got shoved. No reason Lakers should have gotten that last possession.

The Lakers/Celtics really should be 2-2. The 1986 Celtics would have beat the Lakers had they had got past Houston. The 1987 Lakers are like the 86 Celtics. A very deep bench and Magic at his very best! The 87 Celtics had 5 starters playing 40 minutes. The bench was not even close to 1986. This is the best Lakers team of the 80s. The greatest matchup would have been the 86 Celtics/87 Lakers!!!

Yup the Celts were missing the 1986 6th man of the year, Bill Walton sitting for the year with injury, as well as the #2 overall pick in the draft, Len Bias passing away 2 days after being drafted #2 overall by the World Champ Celts. Plus McHale playing on a broken ankle.

This when you really think about it was the biggest game of the 1980’s. Bottom line each team had 3 rings and had beaten each other once. This game decided the series and as it turned out the team of the decade. I still feel the Lakers would have won series had Magic not hit the hook or if the Bird jumper goes in. It probably would have gone 7 instead of 6 games. The 7th game would have been in LA and the Lakers were killing the Celts in the Forum. See the scores of the first two games. It was still fitting this game came down to Bird and Magic. They were the rivalry!

Larry has hit that last second shot so many times! Can’t hit every single one

@@MarcTheSparcTV tell me about it, even after the Pats winning 6 SBs I can’t watch that Giants loss to end our perfect season. Literally makes me nauseous to this day
