I think the are the best team of all time because of what you said. Each player knew their roles, thanks to Jordan they performed the best at their roles and thanks to Phil there was no ego's clashing. It wasn't a bunch of stars trying to stat-pad and be Jordan. That is HARD to do nowadays. Lebron has never been on a team like that. To be fair, it's mostly because of Lebron. But also because players today are trying to stat-pad and build their financial brand. Everybody wants to be THE MAN. Nobody wants to be the sidekick. Way too many egos today.
@beauburrell33182 жыл бұрын
When Horace Grant left, Jordan & Phil wanted a great defender & rebounder. MJ wanted Rodman. He asked Phil Jackson, "Do you think you can handle him." He said, "Yes." This was after 2 years away from the game & losing to Orlando. No player in any professional sport ever could maintain their performance level after 2 year's away from the game. Rodman had so much respect for MJ, he didn't want to disappoint him. It is magical what Air Jordan did, the GOAT.

Whenever someone wants to discuss this particular Basketball/NBA issue, I always start like this: 1) No matter who your team is, *Who Guards Jordan?* 2) No, really... Who guards Jordan. Because until you answer that question, your team is already beaten. 3) Scottie Pippen just shut down _your team's_ best scorer. And he will do it in EVERY SINGLE GAME OF THIS SERIES (Which, as we all know, will NOT go to 7 games, because MJ didn't need a 7th game in the Finals!) 4) Oh, and Dennis Rodman just embarrassed your Center AND your Power Forward ! 5) Hope you have someone to guard the perimeter, because we have the most accurate 3 pt shooter of all time. 6) And our Head Coach already knows how to beat your team... Good Luck

@Marc The Sparc TV You said @ 7:17 that LBJ will elevate your team to championship contender status with just "1" other player. No sir, you got it backwards bro, that's MJ's M.O. He's the one that ONLY needed "1" reliable running mate to get it done. MJ played his 1st 6 seasons without a proven running mate and kept coming up short. But the VERY FIRST time that Scottie played well enough to be selected as an All Star, he took the defending champs to "7" games. That very next season, Pippen FINALLY hits his stride/prime, and MJ and the Bulls totally dismantles the defending champs, sweeping them out of the playoffs, in route to their 1st title. LBJ on the other hand, CONSTANTLY NEEDS 2-3 other All Stars to win titles and even then, he STILL LOSES w/ 'em.
@CumpasFilms2 жыл бұрын
Also, i think you should look at it this way: if the early 90s bulls teams were more talented, if Scottie and MJ were younger, better, than the 96 bulls being a better team is an argument with more merit. Aside from Jordan and Pippen, the rest are basically role players. Rodman didn't score, and aside from Kikoc, there weren't a lot of offensive threats. You had a solid Ron Harper, you had bill wennington and longley, judd buchelor, steve kerr and randy brown. compare that team to the stacked 73 win warriors. If Jordan and Pippen weren't as good in the second three peat, it means they functioned better as a team. Like a well oiled machine.

The reason Jordan retired the first time was because his father was murdered for one Jordan's NBA championship rings. Loosing his father like that was really hard on him. Further, his father had always wanted him to play baseball instead of basketball. The stint as a baseball player was specifically for his father. If his father doesn't die like that it's very unlikely he retires that year

He was driving somewhere and someone just walked up to his car and shot him to death. Took his wallet and the ring. I don't think they ever caught the person who did it and it was widely believed he was targeted specifically because of the ring. I can't speak for MJ's desire to continue playing basketball, but there was no retirement talk prior to his father's death. My suspicion is he felt responsible. Jordan's leadership style most definitely wasn't for the faint hearted, but then again the faint hearted would also be a lot more vulnerable to abuse thrown at them from their opponents and especially in the play-offs and it just so happened with that team that he elevated everyone's game, which was not always the case with earlier teammates. Do you ever wonder what would've happened if instead of Pippen Jordan had had Lebron back then? And I'm not talking about that combo's lethal potential. I'm talking how Lebron would've responded to Jordan chewing him multiple new brownholes in what likely could've been described as psychological warfare if Bron did one of his flop-and-acts, took a defensive play off or didn't improve his FTs etc. over time. He either crumbles, sits out in protest until he's traded (after which Jordan would've haunted him like no player) or becomes an even more dominating player than what he's been in his actual career and if that had happened (and no offense to Pip) an MJ Bron duo would've been RIDICULOUS!

@@jameekhaynie9967 another fact that you missed is they were down 0-2 and had no chance if not for the over confidence of the knicks. For lebrick he played in the weakest conference. Notice how he missed the playoffs and playins when he transferred to the west

You have selective memory. That year Longley won 6th man verifying that he was the best. Center was there weakness, but they had a guy averaging 14 rebounds per game. And he locked up the best bigs in the game, screw scoring!

Not even close, who did they beat for the titles, the Utah Jazz, LOL. They were lucky they came along after Bird's Celtics and Magic's Lakers were great.
@Tippotipo2 жыл бұрын
You are comparing a complete different Bulls: 86-87 vs 86. Bird's Celtics would take hard time with that 96 Bulls on a tough Eastern Conference at that time. Let reminds Bird Celtics had to deal with the rising Bad Boy Pistons back then as defending champion and final contender. You forgot Jordan's Bulls team beat Magic's Lakers on their first ever NBA Finals. Your insulted Utah Jazz, that team beating Shaq's Lakers and twice NBA Finalist. You exposed yourself as another ignorant fans.
