The lyric, Soon I'll be 60 years old, my daddy got 61 , remember life, and then your life becomes a better one, is from Lukas' father passing at the age of 61 in 2012. There is not one part of this song that is not a thoughtfully written and demonstrated masterpiece! He is a true story teller with a superstar voice to back it!

They're Danish.... great band, great vocals...They wrote this track (I've heard it done by many people since) He wrote it about his new daughter and how his dad wouldn't be able to meet her. Not sure if his dad passed or they were estranged...someone will definitely fill in the blanks for sure !!

His father died. Happy Home is another that touches on that loss, meant a lot to me when I lost my Dad 7yrs ago.

His fathers name was Eugene Graham, Lucas real surname is Forchlhammer. So his "band name" is a small tribute to his father

Its in the lyrics "Soon, I'll be 60 years old, my daddy got 61" his dad turned 61 years old and then died of a heart attack back in 2012.

Lukas was professionally trained in a choir and opera, hence the amazing vocal control.

I'd love for you to see more of him, Lukas has such good pitch and vocal control that he can turn on a dime. His songs always hit deep about sensitive topics which just makes him feel more real, not to mention that he barely augments his voice in official videos.

Thank you!! He's one of those with a voice just as good as the recording, if not better live... he has so many good songs :)

His singing is good. But the number of times I have met him. Considering I am his neigbor... a few houses next to me.. he is a damn fool. He likes yelling at people. I have had to tell this boy to shut up 3 times now, when he yells at my wife.

former member of Danish National Youth Choir. From the poor neighbourhood. Lost his father at young age. Went off the rails for a time with drugs and drink. He credits his close friends and family and music for his redemption. Formed a band with his close friends who had just started learning their instruments. Had some online success which got a record deal . Record company only wanted Lukas but he refused unless his friends were included.Writes all his own songs.

He has always been very talented. He grew up in "Christinia" in Denmark and was a beloved child actor in the 90's. His characters name was Grunk ❤ Thanks for reacting to this song. It was a pleasure to watch you enjoy it. I enjoy good songs a lot more when others do too.

Sadly I have to admit to having heard "7 Years" enough that it's gotten a bit "old" for me. And I hadn't really followed his more recent music. I recently went back and listened to some his newer stuff though. "Happy for you" featuring Vu and "Not a Damn Thing Changed" were both ok on my first listen, but unlike "7 Years", which was an instant hit for me, they had to grow on me, which they have. And they have way too few views IMO. "Not a Damn Thing Changed" has a little taste of Michael Jackson to me. There are also two documentaries about Lukas Graham. One that follows the band they as they try to break through in the US, after making it big in Denmark. It's 4 episodes and can be viewed on the channel "Dali A/S". This one I recommend. There's another that follows Lukas Graham over a 7 year period called "7 Years of Lukas Graham", which was kinda meh for me. But still kinda cool for giving you some insights into the lives of musicians, and how much they actually give of themselves, while some fans still wont be happy. Lukas may still look like a kid, but he is 30+ and has 2 kids by now, afaik.
