God had called Israel to be a light to all nations, but they refused to even be a light to their neighbors, even in Galilee. 😥 But are we any better? Jesus commanded us to GO into all nations (Gr. _ethne,_ meaning tribes and cultures) and make disciples. But there are still--2000 years later!--THOUSANDS of cultures with no knowledge of God. This in an age of easy travel, easy communication, and plenty of _rich Christians._ 😪

Jesus was also implying that Israel deserved a 3 in a half year drought and that the people did not deserve help from any prophet during those days because of Israels sins. That is also why they were about to throw him off a cliff
