I’m in talks with Dave Parkin for one of his V3 hilts. Can’t wait to get it in hand.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that. I enjoy making the videos and talking about all the interesting history behind these lightsabers, but if no one watched or enjoyed them I don’t think I’d be that invested so your kind words mean a lot to me and I promise I will keep the content coming!

Could the TLJ and BoBF versions taken inspiration by the Master Replicas prop? Nice video 👍
@Sithslayer9 ай бұрын
Yeh definitely possible. The MR is basically an idealised Hero so yeh a lot of the more recent ones probably used that one as reference and tweaked a bit.

Very nice hilts! I have my own hero and was wondering how you get your tri-ring on the RotJ version to get that dark, antiqued look. Is there a solution or chemical it can sit in to give it that look and texture?
@Sithslayer Жыл бұрын
It depends what it’s made of. Most are made of steel so it’s not easy to darken with conventional methods but try heating it up till it’s very hot then immediately put it in a a little Aluminium Black and it should darken it a little bit. I’m not sure how DaveP did his!

Thanks for the idea! Might give that a try

The rectangular block in the middle of the handle has always been the most cringeworthy thing about light sabers, in my eyes. I cannot image ANY sword fighter putting up with that, when whatever fictional purpose it is supposed to perform could easily be built into an unobtrusive pommel. To be clear, my ire is not aimed at you or anyone else making these as fans. It's aimed at the original prop builders back in the 70s.

lol I actually agree with you. When it comes down to it it looks like a Lego block doesn’t it. Not very “Galaxy far far away”! They started to get more creative with the designs in the PT era, but in the 70’s they just used camera flashes and bits of broken junk lol so they did look a little odd as far as fantasy weapons!
