This is brilliant!! Love this kind of internal discussion. Two Hawthorn greats. Sewell was robbed in 2012. He was best on ground in that GF. Hodge, well, he's a legend.

I went to 2008 GF did not think they would win, told by many Cats fans I wasted my money. I was so pleased to be there watching My Team playing so well. So happy for them when the final siren went. Great Day! 2013 PF @ 3/4 time, down 20 pts, I was worried. Then saw The HAWKS, back slapping High Fiving, Confident as all hell. Best game ever!

How inspiring was the piece about a young Luke Lowden? The confidence/courage of a zero gamer to speak freely in a team meeting and be a catalyst for change. In the hawks change rooms he was Mandela.

I remember walking into the G in 2008 following 2 Geelong fans. One had a 07 premiership tatt on her ankle but the other ankle was bare. I told her that she was lucky coz later that night she could cover up the bare ankle with an 08 runners up tatt. The look on her face ! She doubted my sanity but I KNEW , it was ours for the taking. Not sure why, but I just knew.

So much credit needs to go to Clarkson for 08. It would not take a lot of imagination to make the case that the game plan was specifically designed with only one team in mind. Even if that was not true it certainly panned out as if it was.

I know what Sewell’s getting at. Dying minutes. Turnover in the middle of the ground by Hodge with forwards out everywhere. Geelong goaled from the turnover, and that was t to be game. Bloke was lucky to keep his spot for the rest of the year.

Lucky? It was hodgey... he was in the side no matter what lol.
@timtam87712 жыл бұрын
@@ChillStepa just having a laugh. I was at the game Sewell and Hodge were talking about. I think it wasn’t just a realisation amongst the players after the game that they were good enough to go all the way. Prior to the game the sentiment seemed to be we hoped the players could acquit themselves well against the benchmark. Upon leaving we realised that Hawthorn’s best was good enough to beat a truly formidable Geelong outfit.

As a hawthorn supporter i absolutely hated any of better players going to other teams It churned my stomach Listening to what happened by these two players it does soften the blow of when they left I still hate the fact that a leading ex hawthorn player wins thr grand final player[ cant think what it is called] win with geelong I will always be a hawthorn supporter win lose or draw We have to get CLARKO back with hawthorn no matter what it takes We also have to remedy the racist issue as soon as possible Alli can say is GO THE HAWKS not for next year but for the years that i am still alive

Bs. Hawks were a big chance against geelong. Cats already peaked 2 months earlier and were declining as season went on as hawks were at peaking at the rg The time.
