I think as the years go by, especially with the ten year anniversary of the three peat this year, people may start to appreciate this team a bit more... I never got to attend any of the Grand Finals as a hawks supporter as I was too young. Never really got to appreciate their brilliance. Now in my recent entry to adulthood we are currently youngest team in the comp, least games on avg per player and sitting at 18th... humbling how quickly a juggernaut can fall.

I’m 27 so I didn’t watch footy until early 2000’s so I can’t really speak about the game before then, But I think a lot of us didn’t appreciate how good of a team they actually were. We just got sick of them being successful, but when you look back From 2011-2016 their kicking was unmatched. All of those deadly left footers were so precise. The 2014 and 2015 grand finals were a training drill, especially against my eagles. they then lost their best player in 20 years and won 2 more, that’s the stuff of legends. A true privilege to watch them in that era right before the game turned into prioritising athletes rather than skill based players, and the sweetest Cherry on top was they broke the dockers hearts 😂

I'm a big Hawks supporter but I have to say, Essendon 2000 team is greatest team ever. They lost one game from a miracle left foot goal from Grant in the last few mins. Almost the perfect season and maybe 1988 Hawks Team (19-3) and won GF by 96 points challenges the 2013 Team (19-3) for best Hawks Team. Hard to spilt them.
