I just watched Kourtney’s interview on the Not Skinny Not Fat Podcast from last year, and she admits that it’s impossible for her to pretend to be interested in any fake conversations, which is why she would just disassociate on the reality show anytime she was forced to engage in these empty conversations on camera. I don’t think she, or most of the sisters, would spend time with the family if they didn’t feel obligated to do it for the show. Very toxic and very sad.

I 100% think Kourtney would’ve stopped associating with her family a lonnnngggg time ago if it wasn’t for the show. And Kourtney has said SOO many times she doesn’t want to be apart of the show and I’m convinced that Kim and Kris always manipulate her to doing another season. It bothers me because it’s very obvious she just wants to be a mom and spend time with her family that she has made.

On the part about Kourtney being triggered by Tristan: I think that it would make sense why she wouldn't want to just forget about his cheating and mistreatment of Khloé because let's not forget she herself has gone through an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship with Scott. So I think of all the sisters, she's the one who can really understand what the effects of his lying, cheating and constant disappointing behaviour have done yo Khloé.

What gets me is that North is funny and it's great how much confidence she has but the way she interacts with Kim... It's obvious she doesn't see her as a parental figure but more like an older sister. Kim is a mother but she doesn't actually parent her kids she just has fun times with them and then leaves the nannies to do the hard stuff like discipline. I bet you North doesn't dare to talk to the nannies the way she talks to her mum which is kinda sad. I mean, I sort of understand why Khloe wouldn't want Kris to be alone with her daughter. Especially now, True is at an age where insecurities about how she looks/acts start to arise. Khloe was treated terribly by the public for years as the "ugly/fat sister", and I have no doubt she received the same treatment from her vapid family, directly or indirectly. I can imagine Kris was constantly gloating and focussing on Kim's "achievements", like her gorgeous face, slimmer/petite body, the attention she recieved for being beautiful, her boyfriends and friends, businesses etc.. Khloe was probably compared to Kim and Kourtney her entire life and is scared her daughter may receive the same treatment (True is beautiful, but narcs will find anything).

Great to see people are finally seeing how dysfunctional and toxic they are as a family and I’m so here for the Kourtney vindication! She’s so strong to and managed to escape Kris’ clutches and Kim’s bullying because she wasn’t totally money and fame hungry. Khloe is an extreme case of co-dependency, has so many tale-tell signs of depression like her complacency, the whole “I don’t care anymore” is a massive coping mechanism. She uses so much therapy-speak but she’s not healed or doing the work. She does the same thing expecting others to change it’s so irrational. Hopefully Khloe can get close with Kourtney again and starts making her own independent decisions and really reinforces boundaries with her toxic ex, Kourt can give her the playbook.

@@yukijames1321 Why tf would she not go on the show though? It would be like leaving her financial freedom and a once in a generation type wealth creation opportunity for herself and her children. I actually commend her for putting her pride aside and making it work for her own sake and the family’s. Unlike Rob, Kourtney didn’t give up and made sure she doesn’t have to depend on her family. Now she lives in marital bliss and has been able to carve out a totally independent life from her fame-hungry mother. Many like to forget Kourtney put all her business out there with Scott, her addict ex father of her children and his toxic manipulative ways. That Narc parent read is spot on in my opinion! My gran is a narc (thankfully my mom is not) and there's so many weird parallels with her behaviour I've observed with other narc parents (of my friends, in media etc) and I've come to realise narc parents actively divide their attention to their children and (un)wittingly pit them to 'compete' with their siblings over arbitrary markers of status which will evolve throughout their whole lives based on how much value they bring to the parent. Kim is obviously Kris' golden child because she abides most closely to what Kris values - wealth, clout, status and vanity. Rob obviously the black sheep/cast out because he can't provide value to Kris in ANY of those areas. It doesn't matter if he's in a healthy space and randomly started working on community service and building churches and water tanks or whatever (I don't know and don't keep up with these people, I'm just making a hypothetical example) because it's not according to Kris's code of values, she obviously doesn't prioritise a relationship with him. I think Kylie also shows some signs of being a codependent. She was a child at the time that these dynamics were already in motion and understood acting out/ competing for attention was how she could get anything from her mom. Then when she was a young adult, her siblings had started providing a new type of value to Kris i.e. grandkids, a fresh outlet to accessorize and weaponise her relationships with her children and (in)validate their parenting skills. So it's also not at all surprising Kylie has children closer in age to her much much older sisters, because by that time Kris was ascending into the Narc Grandma, and they are OBSESSED with projecting their legacy through their grandkids. Kylie did all that surgery to look like Kim and provide vanity value, then she gave Kris a fresh and "promising" business with Kylie cosmetics, THEN she also used her own controversy around her surgery to promote the (already stale) umpteenth new season of the show and so on and so on AND she buys ridiculously lavish gifts for her toddlers and prides herself on being a mom. Kylie's entire identity is built on desperately trying to play by Kris's rules to get more affection and affirmation from the family, especially since Kendall bullied her so much. But Kris didn't protect her from "dating" Tyga when she was un underage child and he was a grown man. Kris didn't protect Kylie from Drake and a bunch of other weirdos sniffing around when she was 16. Kris didn't protect her from Kendell's bullying because she obviously didn't see it as wrong and something Kendell needed to be disciplined for. Kris didn't protect her reputation by encouraging the fraud of the whole "billionaire Kylie" saga and she definitely didn't care about her self esteem when she allowed her underage child to get plastic surgery. The only valuable thing this family has given the world is insight into toxic family structures and how they evolve and fracture over time.
@miss_bougie66537 ай бұрын
@@zzzechra brilliant comment! So insightful I totally agree with your sentiments but i believe Khloe would fall more into the category of Kylie she’s so codependent and desperate for Kris’ attention she moved onto the same lot as her, her case is one of trying but never being good enough whereas Kylie was able to even replace Kim in the ranks for a while, Khloe’s has never managed to achieve this the most attention she gets is Kris’ pity…

hey luke! i know you’ve discussed this waaayyy back in this series but i’d like to point out something as an italian. in italy dolce&gabbana owners are generally known for being shitty people, but the thing about “slave sandals” is 100% a translation error. those style of sandals is called “sandali alla schiava” in italian (to which the direct translation is slave sandals) and it comes from the sandals that slaves used to wear back in ancient rome. ofc this doesn't erase all of the other racist stuff they’ve done and they're still awful people, but i just thought it's something i’d point out. it’s actually unfortunately really common in italy for stuff to be translated literally and basically not go through checks or anything before going public, even for big companies. as an italian who has a decent english level i notice it all the time. again i'm not trying to defend them or anything, it's still something that shouldn't have happened and it's ridiculous that no one even checked before listing it on their website.

To play devil's advocate, I'm a mom of 4 and I MUCH prefer doing separate activities with the kids. They crave individual attention from me, so they're happy when they get 1:1 time. When we do things all together, sometimes it goes well, but a lot of times someone will get upset or they all start fighting. I need their Dad with me when it's all 4. 🤣

Totally agree with that! I just think for Kardashian kids they don't ever have any time with no staff, nannies, chefs, security, publicists, camera crews there! It's not the same when they suggest a 'private dinner with her' your kid will be happy to have 1:1 time making biscuits or washing the car if it's genuine 1:1 time!

I only have one sister. Both of our parents took us out separately and I loved it. Loved spending time together all 4 of us but I think spending quality one on one time with each child strengthens the bond with the parents. As siblings she and I already spent a lot of time together and we both appreciated having a date with mom or dad where we didn’t have to share their attention for once. It was nice I would recommend it.

In the last year, I have noticed that Kylie is much more private now. I think she is starting to realize, she was pushed into this. Instead of wanting it for herself. I remember in the earlier seasons, Kylie was always shot down for being herself and doing what makes her happy. Because she had to be so much on camera. Now I think she saw how Kourtney is putting those boundaries and is much happier. So she is doing the same thing. I truly think Kylie and her kids need to get away from Kris and LA. And go live the life she actually wants. Parents like Kris are never happy in their own lives and always nit pick at everything with their kids

My family did dsome things separately but that's partially because we're half siblings that have separate dad-side families. There was a time where my brother lost his grandmother that he moved in with myself and our shared family and it did not go well because I was suddenly living with him and they had the genius idea of "you should share your grandmother since he lost his" when I tried to get a weekend away from him. So from my own dysfunctional experience kids need time away from their siblings sometimes. I think a parent making an effort for one on one time is nice, though it should be in addition to family time. (Mind you, I have no clue how parents do it. I could not be a parent. I'm just thinking idealistically here.)

I would love a downfall of AHS video/s. My favorite seasons are 1,3,5,8,9. I’ve been watching since i was beginning high school and after season 9 I really stopped liking the show all together. Pretty unbearable to watch. I would love to see that topic discussed.

Ahs murder house , asylum, coven, hotel, cult, were all good seasons in my opinion. Murder house and asylum being the best. The double feature would’ve been awesome if the double feature was just two fully developed seasons instead of both leaving you hanging, especially the first feature of that season red tide was such an interesting story and they’ve could’ve done so much more with it.

Khloe and Kris have a lot of undealt with animosity that comes from Khloe having to basically raise Kylie and Kendall. Thats why i believe Khloe still lives in the same lot as her. Why Khloe gets upset at her easily. They have undealt with emotion that they haven't tackled and Kris will never tackle because Khloe has basically resolved to just accepting what's happening so they can move forward. Just a lot of unhealthy dynamics
