Hey man I just want to give you some tips but you should troll rmg lures around the 10 meter deep mark you can get 4-5-6-8 meter diving lures and I catch crap tons of mackerel there and there are two colours I use and that is the red and white quantas colour and another one with red stripes and sparkle I don’t know what it’s called thought and the second wreck is covered in school Mack’s so if you use a paternoster rig with a whole pillie you get many

hey great vid mate. So stoked you finally got a trout. Those fish you kept catching (including the one snagged on the coral) are called honeycomb or bird wire cod. Like all cod they have to be 38cm but few very rarely grow that size. Since the trout have tiny scales, you can fry strips in oil and it tastes aazing..There are a few campsites located on double hence the buildings. Cheers for the great content man!

hey luke, rock cod is that fish you keep catching good eating, and i prefer all my fish skin on, as a chef i rate ur filleting skillz very low as you should gut the fish, the yellow staining on the fish meat is the fishes stomach acid as you punctured it while filleting, both fish would of been less waste and better eating wrapped in alfoil with butter and lemon in its gut, yummm

@@lukefalzon For sure there would be big Spanish mackerels where you were trawling. Up the speed a bit, you were going too slow for the pelagic fish like mackerel, and queen fish. These fish hit at tremendous speeds. The reason you were catching "coral" type fish (coral trout, cod, etc.) was that you were going too slow. There's nothing wrong with catching coral trout for eating, but for sheer fun the pelagic fish are where to go.

I’ve caught hundreds and been fishing in NQ since I was a kid and never caught a legal size one so don’t know what they taste like! Good luck all the best there aren’t many fish up here that don’t taste good if fresh caught and cooked properly lots of people will try rubbish lots of different fish which are perfectly good to eat. Some fish won’t freeze as well as others is something else to keep in mind.
