I work at Sainsbury’s and have four night shifts a week. And I realized today that I listened to Luke’s podcasts for 30 hours last week during my boring work. Each time I understand more and more. It’s an amazing discovery for me. I am proud of myself and thank you so much for your work. I have been learning English for a year and sometimes I lose motivation, but every time you inspire me. I am from Ukraine and we are having a very difficult time now. But you make me smile and always remind me to keep going. My big dream is to get a degree in the UK and when I graduate I will definitely mention your name))

Your comment made me feel motivated. It is happy to see our English progress, right? As Luke said, just keep going. Our English couldn't be improved just because we give up. But I know you stay strong and keep practicing English. Wish peace in your country soon and you will achieve your goals in English and study abroad. Wish all English learners all the best 💜

I am from Panama, I stared listening to Luke's Podcast because I was in a deep depression after I got used, manipulated and rejected by a man whom I thought was the love of my life. To be honest, Luke has made me feel less pain with those podcasts and I stared to take more seriously english. In the past, I found it very hard to understand british accent, but now it is easier. Now, my goal is to improve my grammar and I am working on it while I also improve my listesting. Thanks Luke, not just because you are teaching a lot, but because you have been part of my process of healing my heart, even if you don't know it. God bless you.

For a very long time, I used to learn English through reading. Then I got a smartphone and listened to a great variety of topics. I had the chance to meet an English lady wishing to learn my own language, so we are chatting on the phone half English, half French and we only correct our mistakes in the end not to hinder the flow. It gave me such confidence that now I'm learning Italian and German. It was a long journey but every path had its reward. I wish all the best to you, your loved ones and everybody out there🎉

Hi Luke, thank you for opening up so deeply and sharing your fears, anxiety, and lack of confidence. It’s incredible because it mirrors exactly what your students feel. In your case, it might be even harder because you’ve excelled in English, and accepting any decline in communication skills can be tough. However, experiencing your students’ difficulties firsthand can enhance your ability to teach us. Thank you so much.

Hello Luke! I'm Tani. First of all, I'm not a skeleton at all. I wholeheartedly appreciate you for this podcast. It's an incredible combination of utility and fun. And your sense of humor is a tresure. My listening skills weren't good at all when I'd started listening to your podcast. Mostly because I didn't like other shows for learners of Englis and shows for native speakers were too complicated for me. And after listening to hundreds of episodes I've finally moved to the next level. By the way, this improvement happened without any pain but with joy and pleasure. My next target is to build up my writing skills. So be ready for my comments after your videos on KZbin. Thanks a lot, and best wishes to you and your family in 2024!

Hi Luke, I've been following you on you tube for about a year,.My name is Lula, I'm an English teacher from Rome, What I want to tell you is really, I think, very nice for you! You are a very good teacher, you know how to explain things in the best way, you linger because you try to explain things in the best way (I am like you), you can't synthesise because, I think, you believe there is always a better way to say things. I thank you especially because you put me in a good mood! You are nice, sensitive and funny at the same time and in the morning when I cycle to school in Rome I always listen to you because you put me in a good mood. I let myself be taken by everything you say and if I'm nervous, I take it all in! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! If I organise a long weekend in Paris I would love to come and see you perform. How often do you go on stage? You do yoga for me, I concentrate, enjoy myself and let go of my anxieties...

I'd been teaching my students English since I graduated from senior high school up to now in my fifties.. As Indonesian I had learned English through books and lessons in classes.. I never had chance to study in UK, Aussie or US as English native countries.. Sometimes I felt I lacked many things about this language. But, time goes by and I came across this extra ordinary podcast that I thought benefited me so much. Thanks Luke, you are great.

I’m from Spain. I’ve study English since 2019 at Official Language School in my town to get b2 English certificate. In this course, I have a great English teacher because his pedagogical methods encourage us to improve our different skills; however, he is very demanding too. He puts a lot of effort into grammar and pronunciation. I recognise that it’s important to adopt positive mental attitudes, because studying English is a large journey, although it’s sometimes difficult. In spite of this, I’ve done some significant progress since I’ve started to study English, especially in my listening skills. When I started listening to podcast during the COVID Pandemic, it was difficult to understand the contents of episodes. Nowadays I can listen to them more easily than in the past. I know that one of my biggest difficulties is my speaking, but I understand that I need to improve my grammar, and my reading and writing skills. For this reason, I've to start new habits. Firstly, I usually listen several podcast just like you. My proposal is to write feed-back once a week. Secondly, to improve my speaking, my classmates and I are going to start an English meetup. I’ve also started to talk myself out loud. On the other side, my English teacher has recommended us to listen BBC's 6 Minute English. And after listening, I want to repeat out loud too Finally, to improve my reading skills I’m going to try to read English book 10 minutes a day. I really enjoy when you telling us stories of your daily routine, for instance I loved the episode on another podcast called “Into the story” when you told your experience about your “mission in Paris”. Thank you very much for your effort and work Best wishes from Spain.

Hello from Russia. I see you first time. I started to listen to English a year ago, in January 2023. I listened 15-20 min of English per day and now I can understand 80-90% of your speech. I think you don't use complicated word and it's easy - to understand you. Thank you for the video, it's good for listening in background mode in headphones when I do annoy work. I'm a new subscriber now.

Hi Luke Here is Gianluca, neither a ninja nor a skeleton I understand and support you with the difficulties in second languages. Particularly for the old of us who studied with last century grammar methods. My book was "Mon livre de francais" and I never found the presentation statement:Moi c'est Gianluca. The book only provided: Comment t' appelles ? Je m' appelle Gianluca Small talks and spoken idioms weren't taken into consideration. ❤you ' re simply the best Take care

Hello Luke! I've been a loyal listener to your podcast for two years, and I'm just here to comment on your episode. Initially, I thought this episode might not be for me, but I was driving and decided to give it a listen. Your 'Welcome Back / Your English in 2024 with LEP' episode was exactly what I needed. Before listening to it, I felt stuck in my English learning journey. However, your insights and encouragement made me realize that I've actually improved since last year. It's incredibly motivating to see that my efforts are paying off. Thank you for your continuous support.

Hi Luke, happy new year for you and your family. I am Alessandra from Brazil. I am a ninja and didn’t become a skeleton after listening this podcast, which was amazing. On the contrary, it motivated me to write to you for the first time since I’ve started to listen to you in 2018 or 2019. After discovering you I listened to many of the old episodes, but, unfortunately, I haven’t listened all of them, yet. Nowadays, I am following you on the KZbin, although, I usually just listen and not watch. This one was an exception. I really enjoy hearing your stories even the rambling episodes, which seems to connect more you and your audience. I loved the episode about the birth of your son and many others, such as that about the new Beatles’ song. Your tips are great and this year I want to use, at least, some of them. I am trying to overcome the intermediate plateau and your efforts to learn French are a source of inspiration for me. Your pronunciation is great and I dare say that I can understand around 90% of what you say. I want to improve my write and pronunciation skills, so I need to practice more. Now, I am going to apply for the Celta course in my country, because I want to become an English teacher here. Many of your episodes about learning process with different guests inspired me and also the episodes that explain this kind of stuff. Anyway, thank you for this lovely podcast and for being a human being so cool. Sometimes, I felt as if you were a close and funny friend of mine. Once again, I wish you a great year full of health, peace, love and prosperity. By the way, the top of your son’s head is beautiful. 😊

I believe confidence is the key. I barely know a few words in Spanish, but if I had to ask something like “Am I supposed to be sitting here?”, I would simply say “Me here, this ok?” (Estoy Aqui, Esto bien?) I’ve probably misspelled it in 5 places too. I have zero concerns about how it is not perfect, because I naturally assume that people are kind and would understand that I’m a foreigner.

Hi Luke, I wanted to express my gratitude for your insightful podcast. I thoroughly enjoy listening to your episodes and have been a subscriber since your channel had around 130K subscribers. I often recommend your channel to my friends. Your dedication to your work is evident, and one aspect I particularly appreciate about your podcasts is their extended length, which is a unique feature of your channel. A special thanks to your baby son as well, who stays quietly in the baby carrier and allows you to finish your podcast. He is absolutely adorable.

I am a quite new listener. My plan is, following your podcast as regularly as possible to polish up my English language knowledge and especially to improve the typical British accent and to improve the speed while listening to the language. I am a senior lady from Germany, living in Berlin, and I have to repeat many vocabularies from former days, where I could talk quite fluently. During my youth and school days I had the possibility to make an exchange with an English girlfriend from London. We met in London as well as in Berlin, practiced for some years an exchange, and stayed in contact writing, phoning and even meeting for many years. Whenever we write or talk, we do speak in both languages, because my British friend learned German as well at school and in my family. She even became a German language teacher in London. Life passed by and we decided, that we should plan again another meeting somewhere. So it is absolutely necessary to practice for being able to speak more fluently again. That is the reason for why I am here. We both know each other since 60 years and stayed in contact all the years without interruptions. Isn't this a lovely story!? - In advance I did send to my friend an example of some of your episodes to which she should listen and give me a feedback, whether this would be the right decision to me, listening to your podcast. She agreed, thad I had well decided and that is, why I am here now. I am starting today, Jutta

Hi Luke, I’m Flora a retired Italian teacher, I’ve been teaching in Paris for about ten years and what you said in this podcast affected me a lot, because I had the same felling than you when learning English. I apologize if my English is not very good, but I think you can understand my pressure as a teacher in order to learn another language, I’m not sure my thought was clear, though! I use to teach Italian, as expa in an International high school in Paris - 17 arrondissement -so when two years ago I retired I decided to live partially in Paris and partially in Italy, so I go back and forth. Pour moi est plus facile parler en français qu’en Anglais, but if I switch to French I think you can understand me. Thank you very much, your podcast are really helpful. I hope we could meet in Paris, just to drink a cup of coffee and share our experience as a teacher learning a foreign language. Kind regards. Flora

Reading English fiction is an EXCELLENT way of learning English and IMPROVING your FLUENCY. LISTENING AND REPEATING is also good for not forgetting your English and acquiring fluency. Listening to podcasts in English without looking at the text improves your LISTENING skills, while revising vocabulary. TALKING with somebody like LUKE is using the English you really know. How LOVELY it would be!!!! WRITING in English is magical!!! I love English as much as I love my mother tongue.❤ Oh.. and learning how to do something else with a native speaker of English, as Luke's done with cooking with a French chef is an EXCELLENT idea. Luke, you're reminding me of reading the news in English.I do love listening to British and American songs and watching tv shows in English.❤❤❤

Hello, Mr Luke 1:28:34 1)I've gotten a huge positive experience through this year, and I even enhanced my English level from B1 up to B2 and I began to watch my favourite content(such as movies, cartoons and e.t.c) in original and English allowed to me to find a hobby. 2) I'm really into learning English as a second language, coz I'm non-native speaker. On top of that I hope I make great success in English KZbin, and English will assist me to reach my achievement. 3)To be honest with you, I'm using a lot of methods, techniques for my learning English. I use Cambridge dictionary to figure out meaning and pronunciation, coz it's really hard for me to pronounce unknown words, that I've never seen 4) I've got detox from many sorts of things( watching movies, cartoons in English original) and then I'm used not to speak English at all. I've only known how to introduce in B1 and so on!

Hi Luke. I am an English speaker, but as a recent recipient of a cochlear implant I am learning to hear and understand spoken speech (English accented helps). So my learning is not so different to one of your target audience. I am pleased to say that I was able to follow most of your rambling, and I found your encouragement useful as I want to make more and faster progress. Thank you
