I’m crazy depressed Sweden didn’t qualify when the tournament is played in Germany… and also with the team we have now. Isak, Gyökeres, Kulusevski, Larsson and Elanga. We could have been a dark horse if only we had a decent manager.

The issue with out squad is that it is horribly unbalanced. Our best players are either attacking midfielders or forwards. We dont have a good defence.

During the 2022 UEFA Nations League Hungary beat England twice, 1-0 at home and 4-0 away at Wolverhampton. They also beat Germany 1-0 away at Leipzig. Then in September the same year they lost to Italy 2-0, but they've been unbeaten since then. The England - Hungary match (0-4) is worth checking out. Nations league isn't the most competitive of competitions, few take it seriously. Hungary played well but they were soundly beaten by England 4-0 in a real qualifying game a few months prior to that game you mention.

I'll just stick with what I think were the missed guesses: I would say, wrong on Switzerland (3), Italy (2 or 1), Serbia (3 at least), Romania (3rd or 4th). Czech (2) and Turkey (3). Also, as someone said, Italy can easily go on to win the whole thing. It's what they do.

England under 21 team won the Euro Final last year, against Spain, and some of that team will be playing for the senior team, this year in the Euros.

Italian here, the thing about us is we never won anything we were favourite in and we won plenty of shit everybody counted us out for. Our losses are always extremely frustrating but, oh boy, you can't replicate the memories of our wins.

Keep an eye on Austria you might like their playing style = always energetic high pressing hard with tempo and then with the ball playing straight forward...it´s really no fun to play against them and teams are often then looking like playing bad against them...recently Turkiye literally broke against them due to their pressure loosing 6-1, Germany looked like very bad against them loosing 2:0 by having no serious goal chances to score against Austria in that match, last year Italy also looked like very bad against them loosing 2:0. In the Euro Qualification the games against Belgium were both on a knife´s edge..the first leg 1:1 where Austria had more goal chances to win and the second leg was lost 2:3 after they were 0:3 behind after the first half and at the end Belgium was extremly lucky not to conceive the equalizer...And Sweden lost in both games not having a ghost of a chance to win any of those 2 games... And 2 years ago in the Nations League they played against France 1:1 in the first leg at home where France almost lost (1 minute before End Austria had a huge goal chance to win the game where nobody could believe why the ball wasn´t in the back of the net because the goalie was already down and the goal was wide open but the ball shot from the right corner of the edge of the penalty box went then close to the post passing by) and they also have beaten Croatia 3-0 in the first leg in Croatia as well. That´s why many consider Austria becoming the Dark horse of this Euro tournament when they can hold up to their current form..

Likely quarter finals candidates IMO. France are definitely favourites. England have high squad quality but poor management, if they win the euro it'll be on vibes. Germany will suprise people with a strong outing i think. Spain are at risk of underperforming. Turkey are looking good. Croatia are eternal dark horses. Portugal are probably the 3rd best squad but have much better managment than England. I would expect Netherlands to also make the quater finals.

Lukaku ( may be our best known striker, but i.m.o. we've got better ones) Debruyne, Witsel and Vertongen are still there, but most Red Devils are promising youngsters and they are quite a hungry bunch of demons. Arthur Theate (23), Jérémy Doku (21), Amadou Onana (22), Orel Mangala (26), Aster Vranckx (21), Arthur Vermeeren (19), Johan Bakayoko (21), Dodi Lukebakio (26), Zeno Debast (20) and Loïs Openda (24),.. ... Granted , defensively, we may not be top tier. We havent been since the 80s, when defense was our game. But the base 3 are experienced as they come, and beware of old age and treachery 😂. Even without Courtois we've got decent goalies and the youngsters have the energy and skill to defend collectively and play "gegenpressung" high up the pitch. The atmosphere will be better without him also So not the very best defense,...... but as usual we'll just have to and WILL outscore most teams 🤣. Our Midfield and Attack striked fear onto the oponent in the past ,stacked with big names. This is less the case now, but this is our advantage now, these youngsters will be underestimated and surprise many. They are fast, young ,hungry and willing to learn from the established guard. In full strenght i only see 3 or 4 teams with a high chansce of beating us, and altho the bookies favorite, England is not one if them ( i'm poking the bear , i know 🤣) . But between WC 1982 and WC 1994 the format at the World Cup was the same as at the euros with 24 teams. 1974 and 1978 there were 2 group stages and than immediately the final, no semifinals. So only one knock out match in the whole world cups 74 and 78. The final.
